I have a huge amount of respect for TTCM2, mainly for how different it is to its predecessor, which of course happens to be one of the most respected horrors of all time. Tobe Hoopers return is a welcome one, and his desire to not repeat his original masterpiece is a smart move. It results in a slice of 80s horror that is flamboyantly ridiculous, which still manages to keep its identity intact underneath it all. There's a lot less subtlety this time around - the brooding and implied violence we have seen before is replaced with more gore and Dennis Hopper dual wielding chainsaws with a third strapped to his back. It's weirdly great. The gore is significantly upped, and Leatherface is a little more cartoony. We're also introduced to Bill Moseley as Chop-Top, a fan favourite character who is a little too slapstick for my taste, but I can't fault Moseley for 100% commiting to the bit. Caroline Williams is a delight as this entries badass final girl as well.

TTCM2 is flawed for sure, but it doesn't fall into the rinse and repeat trap that so many sequels do, and it's easy to see why it has a strong following.

Watched last night first time never heard of the movie until few months back when it was announced coming out on blu ray in the UK so I thought let's see if its any good. This movie was made during the 80s fad for slasher movies trying to make there own version of Halloween or Friday the 13th its not perfect by any means you've got usual type of characters who are mainly there to die at the hands of the killer one of them was in the second Friday the 13th movie. And there's the costume the killer wears the collage mascot with claws not very frightening when u see it overall decent horror movie but not perfect. I give the film a 7 but overall I give the blu ray version a nine among things arrow films have done fantastic job of restoring the movie there are some scenes in the film that couldn't be restored but overall good job and then there's the extras firstctheres a Commentary by two film critics and then there's the best part is the interviews with the ladies who play the the would be victims or final girls as they share there memories of the film overall good package highly recommend 👍

Why can't all cavemen look like that?

I saw this movie for the first time when I was about ten years old. I was really into dinosaurs at the time and the idea of digging up a caveman in my backyard thrilled me about as much as finding One Eyed Willie. There is something innocently fun about movies made in the 80s and as silly as the plotline for this one is, the movie is still my absolute favorite.

Two nerdy, loner, high school seniors decide to dig a pool in one of their backyards in hopes of throwing a big party after prom and landing the most popular girl in school. What they didn't expect was to come across a caveman frozen inside a solid mass of ice who they thaw out using space heaters in their garage. After coming home to find their house trashed, they come face to face with a very not dead 1,000,000 year old man ... Or teenager. Makeover montage ensues, giving us the newly minted (not so missing) 'Link'. Boys take Link to school, Link wins over everyone, boys remain unpopular.

This movie is worth watching at least once just to see Pauly wheeze the juice and Brendan dance around like a crazy person.
