Micah Ulibarri (79 KP) rated Everything Sucks - Season 1 in TV

It's a dramedy that takes place in the 90s. I'm talking so 90's it hurts. Three high school freshmen in Boring, Oregan start off their first year of high school in a big way. Hopefully they wont embarrass themselves.
I absolutely fell in love with this show. First of all, it is funny and feels more like a comedy. Nevertheless, the characters are complex and the situations are interesting and emotional.
The young actors, Peyton Kennedy, Jahi Winston, and Rio Mangini especially, do some great work. I think it's great that they actually look like young high school kids. Nonetheless, the are able to bring the emotion.
The show has themes of relationships, self-discovery, growing up, and how the 90s influenced that. There are some very positive representations of discovering sexuality. Not only as a young adult, but some of the older adults recently out of long term relationships also learn what it is to love and trust again.
Finally, one of the big plot points is the making of a movie in the kids AV club. It's actually really impressive when you see just how intensive a process that was not even 20 years ago.
All in all, the characters are the ones that sell the show. The show often ends on cliff hangers making you wanting to come back. My wife and I watched it through twice in one week. It's only 10 episodes and every single one of them is well worth it.
Also, shout out to the 90s tunes. Most of which are still songs on pretty much any of my playlists.

Fantastic collection
I listened to this thinking I would skip anything except Boys Don't Cry, Friday I'm in Love and Lovecats. I was heavily influenced by Newman and Baddiel's cruel take-down of the Cure in the 90s, so expected it all to be gloomy and dirgey. However having listened to this on serious rotation for the last few weeks I now skip those songs in preference for the rest! Never Enough, Just Like Heaven, Pictures of You and Just Say Yes are absolute bangers.

Peter Pan is probably one of my two most favorite children's' books (the other being Winnie-the-Pooh). So, in the early 1990s, when this movie came out, I was so completely excited. One, you have Robin Williams, playing Peter. Two, you've got the Lost Boys, in all of the early 90s glory (Bangarang for life). Dustin Hoffman as Hook was so good, and the exchanges between Hook and Smee are some of my favorite in any movies. I still joke and say apostrophe instead of epiphany.

Brings back great childhood memories
I used to watch this show when I was a kid in the 90s. I absolutely loved it! I haven't seen it in so many years! Thanks to Hulu I got to start with the pilot episode and am now working my way through watching the entire series again! Even as an adult I am enjoying the show once again, ahhh the nostalgia! I believe the youth of today would still thoroughly enjoy this show!!

"S.. S... Smokin'!"
Mid 90s mix of CGI and live action, that is perfectly suited to it's main star (Jim Carrey, then just coming off his success in Ace Ventura) rubber faced antics, and that also had an acting credit 'introducing Cameron Diaz' in what was her breakout role as Tina Carlyle, the club singer who bored bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) falls for at roughly the same time he discovers the Mask, that transforms him into - basically - a 'real life' Tex Avery cartoon character!
