Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated Stephen King's 'Desperation' (2006) in Movies
Jun 26, 2020
Meh
Thought I'd watch an older movie I hadn't seen. Got what I expected-some cheesy acting and some mediocre special effects/cinematography. I remember reading the book. Of course it was better but this movie entertained. Not great but ok. It felt more like I was watching an 80s or 90s movie rather than one made in 2006. Thre storyline was a bit odd, but it's Stephen King sp it's expected. Overall though, worth a watch if you haven't seen it. But I won't be watching it again.

David McK (3425 KP) rated Sharpe's Eagle (1993) in Movies
Jul 31, 2021 (Updated Jul 31, 2021)
The second of the early-to-mid 90s TV adaptations of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series, based on the first published of those novels and starring Sean Bean in the title role.
And, already, the restrictions of a TV budget are beginning to show somewhat: The Battle of Talavera, for instance (which occurs at the end of both the novel and this made-for-TV movie) is a decidedly small-scale affair, for instance!
Still, for all that, this is still an enjoyable enough adaptation of the source material.

Start the review by saying it's a better movie than the Bob Hoskins movie there said it. Anyway the movie this is proper Mario bros from start to finish the look of characters the easter eggs thruout the movie which I spotted thru the movie just because I've the played games when I had an Nintendo console back in the 90s one gripe I had was Mario and lugi should have sounded more Italian than they do anyway take the kids to see the movie
