I enjoyed this book. A little slow in some places but overall very good. This one has a different feel and I enjoyed the plot and characters. It was a very interesting read.

A good story about a troublesome yet 'stealthy' Ninja (in a bright orange jump-suit kay?) I did enjoy the first book but I am definitely not keeping up with all the hype.

The binding of the book (0 more)
I picked up this book solely for the unique binding; I happen to be a bookbinder (around intermediate level, I've made some cool stuff), and I loved the accordion binding. This book isn't long enough to be considered a novel, it's definitely a novella. It's the same story, from two different viewpoints, which I loved. However, the worst part is that it was only a novella, I could have read a long novel about the story and the characters.

So I didn't realise this was set in Australia, it made a nice change from American stories, though the names for some items had me guessing for a short while

I enjoyed the storyline but it also kinda annoyed me in a way. I got a lot of where Tess was coming from with Toby but I don't think I agreed with the Sean bit. It was a change once more from the usual conflict in these sort of stories...But nope. Sorry.

"I’m about to sound like such a nerd. There’s a film I saw in college called Gabbeh. It’s about a Gabbeh — and I didn’t know this until I saw the film — it’s a kind of a carpet. It’s the story of this nomadic family that makes them, and it’s beautiful with all these amazing images — it’s very visual. I loved it and made my boyfriend at the time watch it — it was only like 10 minutes in. I did marry him anyway. [laughs] It’s amazing."

"I was a young kid when it came out, and I sat in the dark and listened to dialogue that was at a level I had never heard before. And I think that’s when I began to pay attention to dialogue in movies. When the show ended, I stayed and I watched it again. I didn’t know about screenwriters, and I waited to see the credits. Who wrote this? And from that day on, I paid attention to who the writer was for every movie I saw."

Emergency dessert delivery is the best idea I have heard in a long time - I wish I could actually call up the Emergency Dessert Squad! This was a clever twist to the popular culinary mystery, and I look forward to more of this series.

With her old business closing, a new one just getting off the ground, and the acquisition of a grumpy cat, Winnie barely has time to sleep and eat. Add to that a potential love interest (or two) and a murdered next door neighbor, and she really has her hands full. Thankfully she has a great group of neighbors and friends to help her out.

When the murderer was finally revealed, I couldn't believe I hadn't seen it. There were clues right in front of my face that I totally missed, and I love that. This story had a unique cast of characters, and was a great introduction to this new series.

NOTE: I was provided with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a difficult read done in an incredible way. It's a hard topic and this is a book I wouldn't have picked up if I didn't see my little sister reading it. I like to try to read what she's reading so we have something to talk about when it comes to books. This was well written and done in a way I felt I had to keep going. I finished it over about a 4 hour reading span split between two nights. It's a very fast flowing book with a tempo that makes you want to keep going until you get to the end.

I recommend this one to anyone with high school aged kids, if nothing else it opens up the eyes a little about some of what goes on. I was the quiet kid in high school. No parties, no going out and being crazy, it was school, home, work. This book shows a bit of a different life than the one I knew.

So many of my Goodreads friends were reading this book and very much enjoying it so I thought I would give it a go too.
I was very pleasantly surprised after I devoured this grim story, I liked it A LOT!
What starts out as a group therapy session turns into something ever so dark and sinister and it was wonderfully executed. I felt for every character within the story and I really didn't want it to end. This leads me on to the only negative that I found which was that it was so short...I was really getting into it when it ended, however, I am very hopeful that there will be a sequel.

"Kurosawa, my God. I saw that film and I left the theater and I thought, “When I grow up I wanna be a samurai.” I just love it, I think it’s great. Kurosawa, you can’t get any better. Do you remember Ran?"
