I haven't decided if I like Deadman Wonderland yet. It seems like I should, but I'm just feeling a little off about it. I guess I'll see after volume 2.

I don't know how I felt about this one. I think I enjoyed it, but there were a lot of characters to keep track of. And really... stop changing Spiderman!

Codename Villanelle is a book I listened to. I don’t often listen to audiobooks, but I wanted to read this book, and I didn’t own a physical copy.

The reason I wanted to read this book is because I heard there is a TV series coming, featuring Sandra Oh from Grey’s Anatomy. I loved Sandra as Christina, and I knew I was going to love her as Eve. The TV Series is a hit, and I love it, but this is not why we’re here. We are here to talk about the books. On this occasion, the first book in the series.

Villanelle is one of the world’s best assassins.

She is a psychopath who loves her luxurious lifestyle and loves playing mind games. She is hired by a powerful group called the Twelve, and she is tasked to murder rich and influential people.

Eve Polastri is a former MI6 operative.

She is hired to find and capture or kill this assassin. Eve, who has a quiet life with her husband Nico and enjoys the peace, accepts the mission. However, little does she know, everything is about to change.

The chase is an exciting one and we never know what will happen next.

Honestly, I had troubles with the audiobook. The pronunciation of everything in Russian, French and Italian was a complete miss, and it annoyed me. Names, food, places, cities - it was all said incorrectly. I know for some people this is a minor issue. However, for me, it took away the joy throughout the whole book.

Apart from this, the first book of the series is a great introduction to both Eve and Villanelle. We find out more about their personalities and characters. We follow Villanelle in a few of her assassinations, and we follow Eve in some of her investigations. I think this book focused more on VIllanelle, featuring her childhood and training days as well. The presentation of their feelings and insights was immaculate. I loved their relationship forming, even without them meeting each other. There is tension, there are clues, and there is the play of destiny to always end up chasing each other.

The writing was good and the pace was fast, which led to a very fast adventure. Also, the ending was intriguing, and it definitely leaves space for the second book to come in and explain a few things.

I am looking forward to continuing this series and reading the second book - No Tomorrow. I recommend Codename Villanelle to everyone that loves action, assassination, murder, spy themes and psychological thrillers.

Stormi (105 KP) rated the Xbox One version of Call of Duty WWII in Video Games

Ok...I'm a girl and I guess it is just amazing when females play video games. I always get friend requests while I'm playing and the guys are like "hey, you are pretty good!"

Duh! I'm a girl and I can play too! LOL!

That being said.....I love this game. I have been a COD junkie for a long long time. I have played all the games and my favorite time of year is NOV. When the new game comes out each year. This game was and is awesome. It had a few glitch issues when it first came out, but I took a break for a while (oops, a few months went by, because well, LIFE) and when I came back the gameplay is so much better. Less glitches, great new weapons, new gear. This game is one of my favorites of the COD games.

I was really excited to read this book. I love all things filled with geekdom but this one was a little too much for me. I felt like this book was filled with so much opinion that I had a hard time finishing it.

The author was funny and it kept me entertained at times but I felt that this was a giant rant about fandoms. I think that this book could have been marketed a little differently. This is definitely a book that would fit in as a literary essay or critical thinking in a science fiction class. I enjoyed it but I really wish there was more to it than rants about specific details.

All in all, I'm not a huge fan but if you like rants or are missing that science fiction fanatic in your life, this would be the book for you.

very much a HIT for me!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this! I found it a lot of fun, spattered with some drama, some bloodshed and some smexy times, and I want to read more of this author.

I loved that Celia was not going to be a proper lady of her time and was going to do what she wanted. Even if she really wanted her bethrothed AND Jackson!

I loved that jackson was, for a pirate, a proper gentleman with Celia, at least til he had a taste.

I loved Jackson's support network and I absolutely did NOT see the twist of who Celia's bethrothed was to Jackson!

Historical romances and pirate romances have been a bit hit and miss for me, but this is most definately a HIT!

Yep, I finished this book already. I was only going to read a littler bit, but then couldn't stop. Until I had to when I suddenly realized someone had put anchors on my eyelids when I hadn't noticed. I only had two or three chapters left, so that was a total buzzkill. Even though the first chapter had me giggling like a loon (do loons giggle?), it's not all laughs in Hyperbole and a Half, but has some truths about depression and self. I never caught Allie Brosh's blog when she was updating it, but I'll definitely be checking it out now.

Rolling Stone's 498th greatest album of all time
I would have said I knew this album, but there a couple of songs I didn't know. Packed full of indie bangers (I am the Resurrection, Waterfall, Fools Gold, I Wanna Be Adored), a true classic. But a surprising amount of filler in this album, including Don't Stop (Waterfall played backwards) which made me feel a little sick. I would have expected this album to be higher up the list, but I am guessing the US base of Rolling Stone has dictated this somewhat (the NME list has this at 94th).

I thought this movie was hilarious. I love David Spade and I think Lauren Lapkus does not get enough credit for the amazing work she does. She's definitely one of my favorite actresses and I couldn't think of a better person for this role. She was definitely the standout, without a doubt.

I think this film is a fun watch for a movie night with friends or just when you want something mindless that will make you laugh. I think this is one of the better movies that Netflix has done recently and I definitely recommend it.

"How I loved this film. It was what I had always wanted a musical to be. Little bits of music woven through a romantic story. I thought it was perfect, and I even made a tape of the soundtrack, which I still have, somewhere in the archives. A great opening—which, by the way, I think is the case with most of my film loves—and, of course, the two- and three-line songs that inspired the Marx brothers as well as many others, myself included. But I don’t think anyone did it as well as Clair."
