"I saw the movie as a teenager and I loved it, but I didn’t know why I loved it. I loved it because it just felt like a gargantuan document about time and the history of time, but I didn’t really understand it. Then I saw it again probably in my mid-20s, and the part that I glommed on most to was – and this was pre-AI, basically pre-Siri; you could imagine me thinking about 2001 in the age of Siri. But then I watched it again probably two years ago, and it absolutely transformed itself, and I started to take different meaning from it. And I realized that, ultimately, what it was saying is that we are the aliens, and that curiosity, mankind’s curiosity, is what actually leads to our own demise in a deep, deep way. That we know something is a problem, yet we want to embrace it. I haven’t ever felt that way while watching a film. It’s such a perfect, beautiful document about the universe."

"I love that whole album, Coney Island Baby, I like the whole way that album was done. It’s got a cooler, very studio thing going on with all these ‘Oohs’ and ‘Ahh’s’ on the vocals all over the place. “With ‘Crazy Feeling’, I can’t be sure, but I think I heard it on the radio when it first came out. I think I was going to kindergarten somewhere; that was the ‘60s for me! I heard that ‘bum, bum, bum’, that sort of that chiming thing that goes on, and I really liked it and the sound of the guy’s voice singing. “At this point, it could’ve been a vivid dream that I’m remembering, but I think it actually was that song that I heard that on the radio and mixed in with everything else it caught my ear, at whatever age I was, whenever that song might’ve gotten a couple plays on a radio station. We would’ve been listening to a New York station at that time, living in Connecticut, or a Connecticut station"

I had high hopes for this book, but I really don’t think that I “got” it. As it was all written in the third person, I struggled to work out who some chapters were about until I was a good way into them. And considering the subject matter, the ballroom culture, the missing children, it was just quite uninspiring. Perhaps I’m just not the target audience for this book. Actually, I DON’T agree with this. I was really keen to read a book about Drag culture and to learn something from it, and to some degree, I did. I just wish there had been a bit more “oomph”. Even the scene with the gun barely raised a gasp from me - it was more of a “but why?” Maybe I missed the motivation. I don’t know. This book has a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews on Goodreads, which just goes to show that what doesn’t work for one person works really well for another. I’m glad I tried it though.

Once I got into the meat of it, I finished it within a couple of days. I thought it was extremely smart and well written, and I highlighted a few quotes that I felt were very poignant.

I absolutely love this series! I can't wait for the next Book! The book is about Selkies and is Acton packed, and violence and a page turner....I couldn't put it down! And at the end, I didn't see that Coming! Great book series a Must read. I received an ARC copy for an honest review.

This story flowed well for me. Some things did annoy me at times but overall I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters and the adventure was amazing. It was a fun, sweet read with a lot of action and I was excited to see what happened next. I am glad I got to review it

This was even more fun then the others. I love how these characters grow. I love that you can read these as stand alone and not as a series but still makes sense as a series. The characters and plot were amazing and I loved reading it. I am so glad I got to review it

I really enjoyed this start to the series. I love mermaids so that's a plus. The beginning was a little slow but picked up very quickly. I loved all the twists and characters. She wasn't your typical mermaid which I also loved. I enjoyed the mystery mixed with paranormal. Very enjoyable, can't wait to read the next.

I have no idea what I have just read. I did not understand it at all. It felt like I had begun reading halfway through the book or midway through a series. I have a vague idea of what was happening but it was very confusing and hard to work out who was who and what was going on.
