would have preferred a slow burn, rather than the insta-lust
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is the second book I've read of this author in quick succession. And I find myself comparing the two, which I maybe shouldn't, so I'll try to keep the comparison to a minimum!

Leander, Earl of Ockley, is a widow and his mother keeps finding new young YOUNG ladies to throw at him, he needs an heir after all! But Leander isn't in a rush. Meeting the Duke of Arden throws Leander into a tailspin, especially when his brother warns Leander off Arden, but Leander will do what he wants. He's a grown man, after all. Arden has a reputation for all things that "polite" society shun. Leander can't keep away, and finds himself drawn into Arden's circle, and his bed.

I'm not sure I liked this book. There are pages of Leander's internal ramblings and I found myself skimming, far more than usual, huge paragraphs. Possibly, if Arden had been given a say, I would have enjoyed this book more, but he doesn't get a say and that's one point I didn't like.

I didn't feel the romance element here. Leander kinda jumps into things with Arden and I think I would have preferred a longer slow-burn plot, rather than the inst-lust thing. The smexy times were good though!

There's lots of descriptions of rules and regulations of the time. Usually, when reading historical romance, I can get my head around the why and wherefores, but I struggled a bit here.

I DID like that we don't get Arden's given name til right to the very end. I thought that was a great idea.

I did like HOW it was written, rather than WHAT was written, if that makes any sense. I like the way Fielding writes, I just wasn't too fussed with this particular story, you know?

I did finish it, but it was a close thing.

Hey I submitted this a bit ago, and never got a response:
I have a suggestion for the Books category. Would there be any way to link series? Like the television section? I think it would make it much easier to find book series, and avoid the mass amount of duplicates.

@Bird I'm glad it's up for development, I'm totally up for linking a ton of series.

This gets a 4 star only because i feel like I've missed something. I loved the characters and the story, but is it a 2nd in a series? Overall the writing was amazing as always.. loved the plot and characters and I would love to read more of this couple (series?)

A little erotic story involving twins losing their virginity. The overall story was steamy but some parts seemed silly and took away from the overall experience. I don't have a twin, so I am not sure I would understand. It read like a short story one would read on literotica, though.

I, Tonya is one of my favorite movies of 2017. A story as sharp and broken as one of Tonya's skates that is brought to life by an amazing cast, with a huge bow to the makeup and wardrobe department. I, Russ give I, Tonya a 10 out of 6.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was a bit of a slow start, but after getting back into it some more, it was really intense and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I'm excited to see what the last book of the trilogy holds now.

When i downloaded this i was expectinng it to be a simple, quick romance but was surprised to find it wasn't.

I'll admit i was a bit bored in the first 10% of the book but then she met Ryan and it became interesting and a rollercoaster of emotion.

"Before I was a reader, I was a gamer so it was so awesome how Ernest Cline married two of my biggest passions into a solid book that is about more than just video games. It was hard to focus on anything else after I finished this 5-star read."

The story was a little slow in the beginning, but once you get into it, the book is actually pretty good. It was a little vulgar, but it's not like I haven't ran into that before. I think I may have seen a few typo errors, but they were minor.
