Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Ghost and the Graveyard (Knight Games, #1) in Books

3.5 stars.
I saw the cover a while ago on Amazon and because I like a good cover thought "I want to read that." I didn't even read the synopsis, just downloaded it free.
So when I started this I had very little idea of what it was about. I can say I wasn't disappointed.
The story was fairly easy to get into and I was intrigued by the sexy Rick and the affects he had on Grateful as well as how he managed to do half of what he did (don't want to spoil it by giving the details away!).
Then comes Logan. I couldn't quite decided if I liked him or not. He came across as being very helpful but there was also a bit of jealousy going on too.
I feel like I can't give much away without spoiling it but it's quite a fun read filled with paranormal elements and romance that will leave you questioning for the first half and "oohing" over the second.
You should give this a try!

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Dune (2021) in Movies

I just saw this in theaters and was amazed by the visual effects. I am slightly new to Dune (never read the book or saw the 80s movie. Although I have caught references to it because I'm a scifi and fantasy nerd). So I was mostly going in blind.
I did get confused with a few things that were happening I did eventually get enough that most of my questions got answers (and I figure those that didn't will be explained when I read the book).
The actors were great. And I found myself getting lost in the story on multiple occasions. On the times I thought the movie was dragging I'm not positive that it was completely the movie's fault as much as it being a combination of lack of knowledge on my part and the movie theater starting the movie late and playing a large amount of trailers beforehand, and usually when I thought this it was after a time i was confused.
I can't wait to see part two.

A decent comedy with a good assembled cast line up. It has quite a lot of funny moments but to be honest when I first saw the trailers I thought this could be a classic. Unfortunately it didn't reach that level, but still worth a viewing for a few laughs.
Rosealinea (589 KP) rated A Star Is Born Soundtrack by Lady Gaga in Music
Mar 11, 2019
I won this album from a giveaway here on Smashbomb! I was absolutely delighted to receive it and as I am a Lady gaga fan, I couldn't wait to listen to it.
I popped it in and I'm really sad to say that I was very disappointed with it. There are a lot of talking snippets throughout the album, which didn't really seem to fit or make sense in any way. It left me feeling somewhat confused as it was a soundtrack.
As far as the music goes, I really wanted to like this album so much, but it was all very generic and samey throughout. The tracks seemed to run into one and I got bored listening to it, however, I listened to it in its entirety.
I'm really sorry to say that I would not recommend this album (Sorry guys)

1/3rd Hard Candy, 1/3rd American Psycho 2, and 1/3rd Netflix's The End of the Fxxxing World
This book was perfect. I don't think I can really say anything negative about it. I found myself unable to tear my eyes from the pages for even a moment. I guess if I really had to nitpick, the ending was a little predictable. But that in no way takes away from the rest of the story or McGinnis' masterful writing.
I've heard a few people say it was intense, hard to finish. I personally, did not have that trouble. Then again, I watched and read a lot of stuff I probably shouldn't have at a really young age and am probably, at least slightly, emotionally stunted. I can definitely see where other readers are coming from though. So, as much as I highly recommend this book, proceed with caution.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Point of No Return in Books

Military romance seems to be my favourite thing to read at the moment. I love sexy alpha males and hot 'hold their own' heroines and this book does not disappoint. I enjoyed the technical details that seem to bring a scene to life and there's no shortage of steamy bits too. This fast became a book I couldn't put down.
Only one issue I had with this book and that was the phrase 'flaming fish balls' , once or twice I could have handled but it's constantly cropping up, I thought it was because the author wanted a substitute for the 'F word' , nope, I was wrong because ' f''king flaming fish balls' was in it too. This did detract from my enjoyment and so I give this book a 3.5 Stars instead of a 4. I would certainly read others by this author and I would recommend this book.

Description
Regret not reading earlier
Now I love a fantasy novel as much as the next person and I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy this novel. I just wish I had read it when I was younger. Tolkien's description is elegant and beautiful. However, the only thing I found was that sometimes a bit of information is just thrown in there at a convenient time. Such as when Bilbo needs to do something, he suddenly has the necessary skill for the task. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but some of the language was also a bit childish for me. Of course, it is aimed at a younger audience which is why I wish I had read this earlier. I loved the story-line and found that it flowed well. I'm now going to try Lord of the Rings.

Great Book !!!
This book was a great start to a new series, I loved the reactions of the characters to the things that happened throughout the book. They were very believable, and they made me want to bake cookies :) .
I thought Myrna was a good character and I loved the play between her and Zeke, I wish it would have been a longer story as I didn't want it to end :)
The only thing that I didn't particularly like was all the bouncing around between the characters, however it was still a great story, and I would definitely recommend adding it to your TBR Pile. I can't wait to read the next book in the series !! I really love Sarah Price's Books :)
I volunteered to read this book from Kingston Books in exchange for my honest feedback, the thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Geek Girl (Geek Girl, #1) in Books

Hmmm...
I've been eyeing this book up for a few months now. Every time I go in my local Asda Living I hum and ahh over whether to buy it but I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But then I saw it as a Kindle deal and just decided to buy it.
This was a quick easy read but I never really fell into the story. I didn't gel with it that much. I don't know if it was Harriets total geekiness-slash-clumsiness-slash-doesnt know when to shut-up-ness but up until the last 15% or so I found her so awkward as a character.
That's why I wasn't really expecting anything romance wise but that end bit has me a little intrigued as to where things could go with her and Nick so I may just have to buy the next book at some point.
