Life is too short to read books I don't like. This is a book that I got for free from Barnes & Noble and didn't even make it half way through. I was going to try and push through, but every time I went to read it, I got a feeling of dread in my bones. So, I decided that I would put it down and read something else. There are too many good books out there to spend time on one that does not interest me, and causes me mental strife.

**Spoilers**

The Bjorklunds are a Norwegian family and have been dreaming of life in America for years now. And the time has come to make those dreams a reality. The prologue begins in 1877 with the family discussing plans to start saving and send two of their sons and their families to America. When Chapter One begins, it is a different year which is not mentioned, and I was extremely confused. In the prologue Roald's wife's name is Anna, and then all of a sudden it's Chapter One and Ingeborg is introduced. I had to flip back and forth a few times trying to make sense of everything. It turns out that Anna died and Roald remarried a few years later to Ingeborg. However, my main reason for disliking this book is Roald. He treats his wife with contempt and obviously withholds any affections he has towards her. I get a bad taste in my mouth every time I think about the way Roald treats Ingeborg. I understand a lot of it is cultural and the era. But I do not enjoy it. He rules his house with an iron fist. Ingeborg is afraid to even let a sigh out accidentally for fear of her husband.

I read a couple other reviews and found that the book does not have a happy ending. This was one of the determaning factors I used when I decided to set it down. I did not want to push through a book I did not enjoy to have it leaving me feeling miserable. I may pick this back up in the future, but it is being shelved for now. I have not given up on Lauraine Snelling either. This was the first book I have read by her and am interested to see what other books she writes.

I didn't just love this book. I loved this book. It's moving. This book isn't just a biography of Rory Feek's life. It's the story of a true love, that will last beyond death. A love that is strong and unbreakable no matter the circumstance. It is a book that left me smiling, and left me with tears. This is a book that will be with me forever and I will turn to it many times over.

As a woman who is married to her best friend, I couldn't imagine going through what Rory did with Joey. I wouldn't be able to stay strong and move on. It would be too heart shattering, in my opinion. But, through reading Rory's story, I know I can do it. I know I can remember the good things, the fun times, the inspiring moments that my best friend left me with. Rory's story is filled with hope and faith. The way he talks about Joey is incredibly moving and I loved feeling a part of his life, if just for a little bit.

Reading this book, however, opened new feelings for me! I followed this story closely, especially since my husband knew Joey and Rory somewhat for a time, having bounced at the Longbranch in Raleigh, NC where a lot of country singers got their start. I followed the singers' story, how Joey was battling her cancer but determined to live life a certain way. I followed the pictures of their beautiful family and sweet baby girl! I was utterly devastated when I read of Joey's death, and sweet little Indie with out a mama! Oh how my heart ached for them all. But, the words that Rory penned in this book truly helped me to see life in a new way. Truly inspiring!

I highly recommend this book to all with 5 stars and nothing less. It's a story of one man's journey with the love of his life and their struggles with battling her terminal cancer. It's a story of one man's faith in God. It's a story that is truly amazing and you will definitely need a few tissues as you read through these beautifully written pages. <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/booklookblogger-review-this-life-i-live-by-rory-feek/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>

Gripping, difficult to put down (1 more)
The suspense and tension was really well built
I wish it had been a little bit longer, the ending felt a little rushed (0 more)
I had a lot of fun reading this book. This has been compared to Scream a lot, and I can see why. There are similarities, but not so many that you know whats going to happen. I found it really difficult to put down.

* I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher for review via Netgalley. This has not influenced my review.

Brilliant
I haven't seen series 1 but i did see series 2 which I thought was pretty good, this prompted me to watch series 3. Well it was amazing, finally a set of writers that can write a good ending to a series (after the disappointment of Liar and Dr Foster). I was not expecting what happened at the end. I didn't always quite understand why the perpetrators were doing what they were doing, nor why they made Karl make a choice at the end but it was still gripping.

So I just finished the Reign finale and I may have to watch it again to have a full understanding of what exactly happened because it didn't feel like a whole hour passed as I was watching it. There was also a lot of loose ends that didn't get tied up. I should probably read up on the history of what actually happened, too. All I can say now is I'm really going to miss this show and thanks to everyone involved for 4 seasons of such a beloved show.

A Little Slow but an Interesting Story
All robots have 2 protocols, one is to never harm a living thing, the other is the inability to alter themselves. Something goes wrong and insurance agent Jacq is left to figure out what the hell happened. It's a little slow to start but the story is interesting (except for this really really f**king weird bit where Jacq gets drunk). Feels a little like I, Robot though so I don't know how I feel about it. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't watch it again.

This feel was recommended to me in film studies and so, one night I sat in front of the tale and watched it. I forced myself to finish the film and I thought due to being a film student it wasn't the best acting, filming and the story line wasn't pursued greatly. It was a bit far for a family film, I wouldn't watch it with my family. Give it a go, maybe it's your thing but it wasn't my cup of tea!

What I expected to be a riveting, exciting, thriller novel turned out to be a very slow, predictable, murder mystery of a scorned woman and wife. It was an alright read but it was hard to get through it and force myself to get to the end because it hardly kept my interest. Would I recommend it to a friend? Very doubtful. Would I read again? Negative. I do plan on giving the author another go around and I do plan on reading another book of the authors.

Wonderful story

In shock
I started playing this game and was a little skeptical. I had heard great things about it, but I thought they were over exaggerating. They definitely weren't. The storyline, characters, and animation style work together to create a game that I couldn't stop playing until I was done. So much dialogue! So much character development! And then a twist at the end that left me in shock. If you haven't played it yet, give it a try!

Timeless read.
I love this book. It is not my usual genre and it languished on a shelf for a while, until I ran out of other reading material.

Since then, I have read it several times - something I rarely do - as I love the gothic feel and timelessness of the tale.

The characters are well imagined, and whether you like or dislike them, it's because they feel real.

This is a curl up with a mug and an open fire kind of book, perfect for cold dreary evenings.
