Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Queen (The Selection, #0.4) in Books

3.5 stars.
I became a fast fan of Maxon's mother in The Selection trilogy so the chance to read her story and how she won her husbands heart was a big YES!
I liked reading her Selection and how she went about it, believing in herself. I also learnt a few things I didn't know about her like how long she'd loved the Prince.
If you're a fan of the series then you'll probably enjoy this.

I'm in two minds about this book. It centres around a main character who is intentionally detestable and just an all round horrible spineless idiot. This is good in a way as it means the author has done a great job of writing the character, however I think i might have hated him too much as I found him too irritating and frustrating after a while. It's a shame really as I found the rest of the story very interesting and the ending was refreshingly different.

This is a review of the entire series. I know it has a lot of back and forth ratings but I thoroughly enjoyed this. If you like Inuyasha, Fushigi Yuugi, or any other series where the heroine has something special about them and are surrounded by abnormal characters who support and care for her, as well as a romantic interest, I think you'll enjoy this. I read the entire series in 3 days and had a hard time putting it down. Give it a chance.

I had heard good things about this book but the reviews were mixed. so I decided to give it a go and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed it, it took a little bit to get into but then it just flies. this is defiantly a roller coaster of a story. the author has a brilliant way of writing the scenes so they are intense and very passionate which will suck you into the story.

ashezbookz (32 KP) rated The Chemist in Books

Could have been a 5 star book I think - It was a bit lacking in some areas - why was it so repetitive sometimes? I get you're a chemist, etc. - I think it'd have been fun to learn more on that as far as making the weapons, etc. However, where the book shines is 100% in the dog arena. That was my favourite part of the whole book, when will there be a dog what's happening OMG :P I'm a pet person what can I say.
Rachel Maria Berney (114 KP) rated Angel: The Series - Season 1 in TV

If you are a Buffy fan, you will love this.
Recently rewatched this after being a huge fan when it was first on TV. I still loved it. I like the case by case episodes and the way the personal relationships are built. There is a comedic value in Angel that you just don't get in Buffy, it makes it feel a little more grown up. I am still a fan of Buffy, however, I think they got the formula better with Angel.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated The Magic of You (Malory-Anderson Family, #4) in Books
Jan 18, 2018
I really wanted to love this book. I really did. As a Malory novel, I was so sure that it would be just as amazing as the others I have read. In fact, when my grandmother gave it to me, I couldnt wait to read it and bypassed a pile of books I had lined up to read.
Disappointment always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
While the novel still held Lindseys easy straightforward style, lovable characters, and hilarious dialogue, it lacks the magic that I experienced with the others. I think this is because the lead female protagonist, Amy, annoyed me beyond reason. I dont think I have ever read a novel where the lead female was so obnoxious that I almost threw the book.
I give Amy props for being determined, but it reaches a certain point where I just believed her pathetic, to be honest. If she annoyed the hell out of me, I cant imagine how Warren felt. It annoys me just as much that apparently sex can make people fall in love. Sorry romance novels, it doesnt work that way.
However, I found myself laughing with this novel more than I did the others.
