Cori June (3033 KP) rated Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) in Books

A great world building book. I was engaged from the beginning. Kelsey had believable reactions even if a few of the things thrown her way she excepted a little too easily. I enjoy that she has a defined personality.

My review: "Okay, so I have some major mixed feelings about this lovely book. If you read my reviews for A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury, then you’ll know that I loved both; especially ACoMaF. For some reason though, I had a hard time getting through this book.
Don’t get me wrong, I did like it. But let me explain some things I did not like. The beginning was slow and honestly, I was a bit bored. Eventually it picked up, but if I hadn’t been so invested in the series, I might have stopped reading. (And I’m glad I continued, btw) Though the pace picked up, I still found myself forcing myself to push through the story. That’s my biggest reason for maybe, kinda, just a little bit- not liking it. The end also seemed a bit rushed. Maybe that’s just me. But I felt like maybe there should be… MORE.
In the first book, I was very much into Tamlin and Feyre. The second book I was drooling over Rhys and totally shipped him and Feyre. Yes, they have a couple steamy scenes in this book, but it didn’t do much for me like the previous book. This time, I was hooked on Cassian. I don’t know what it was, but he stole the show for me. I also thought Lucien and Elaine were super cute, despite things being so strained. But really, can I just have Rhys and Cassian for myself? Please, please, please." Kate (493 KP) rated Pretty Killer in Books

I enjoyed this book as it was crime book that kept me guessing which everyone knows I love. I did guess the final 2 little surprises but that was very close to the end.
I like a crime book which is not straight forward and very easy to guess.
To be honest the downside of the book was it took me a while to get into and I was a little worried that the introductions would be most of the book. But it was a long book so it was ok. It also didn't end when I thought it was going to so it was little a bit extra bit at the end. Once I got into it was a page turner and I couldn't put it down. I t was one of those '1 more chapter' books.
The way the book was written I got a good feel of each character and how they looked, sounded and acted which I feel brings you into the book more.
The book did go back and forth but it was needed. The book wouldn't of worked without it. It didn't hurt the flow or confuse the reader.
I really felt for Casey and could see why Harper was doing this and why she was going to do to herself what she wanted to do (don't want to spoil the book). I felt anger towards each character in turn. Some more than others.
I haven't read or watched anything similar to this. It was a very well thought out and written book.
This is a book I would read again and most crime books I don't as I know the ending.
The book exceeded the blurb. And definitely a book I'm so glad I decided to read.
I would definitely read other books by this author and would highly recommend to other people.

First off, I loved the cover and at first i found myself intrigued by the story and Gris but as I continued to read this I found myself having a difficult time getting through it as it appeared to become a dull read and maybe that's my fault as I went in with the expectation of getting at least the creeps but it didn't happen. I will warn readers that this does contain some self-harm issues which at times can be very descriptive.

"I have been seeing Caraval featured on so many blogs and instagram accounts, I couldn't just not read it. I've read, “A MUST READ”, so many times; I knew I had to get my hands on it...
And I loved it! LOVE, LOVES, LOVED IT!
It was everything a book should be: fun, diverse characters; steady plot; twist and turns (let me tell you, there were so many twists- I got dizzy); romance; suspense; adventure! I read this book in one sitting; only stopping to use the bathroom once and another time to grab a quick snack (a handful of pink Starbursts). It was that good." Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Healing Touch: Essential Energy Medicine for Yourself and Others in Books

This book was really interesting, and I enjoyed reading it. I had trouble reading some of the history stuff (but that's probably because I just don't have a lot of patience). I kept thinking "okay, I believe you, now show me how!
The instructions were rather clear, but I would have liked more drawings. I felt like the whole book was history and information--which is important--but that only a little bit of it was actually instructional. It would have been easier to read it if the information had been better mixed in to the instructional.
On a side-note, as a sci-fi/fantasy writer, this book makes an excellent inspiration/source for writing about the supernatural!
