This was a really cute novel. I really enjoyed reading it. It was predictable but that is to be expected when a novel is based off of a fairy tale. I found myself engrossed in this novel. It was a nice escape from reality. I will definitely look into reading more novels by this author. The writing was spectacular, and it was very imaginative.

Can follow with very little background, good dialogue and writing, plenty of "Oh, f***!" moments. (0 more)
Can be a little slow, and sometimes a little confusing. (0 more)
Frighteningly Real
I love this. It's frighteningly realistc and engaging. Just when I think I'm starting to get a little bit comfortable in this world, it jars you and leaves you a mess. I haven't been right for days, ya'll.

Admittedly I read this quite a few years ago but from what I can remember it was a wonderfully poignant story of grief and family. It's honest about the twists and turns grief will take you, good and bad, it's really a breath of fresh air. It clearly has a lot of heart in it, which as an avid reader and performer I really appreciate.

As a musician who has toured I have friends all over the world. Before I used to have to buy a phone card or have a really expensive phone bill. Messenger compared to this is a life saver, I can call, video chat, message etc for free. What's not to love.

Is there currently or could you add the ability to block newsfeed for posts when another user you follow adds something to a list? I am not big on lists of movies I have watched and sometimes I have to scroll through a lot of them if someone is adding a bunch to their lists. No offense to those that do, but sometimes it takes a while.

Agreed here. I dont mind list updates but would prefer one summary update rather than an update for each item added.

"I saw this film when I was a teenager, and it had a lasting impact on me, having been a fan of hip-hop but being largely unaware of the social conditions in France that made hip-hop culture so powerful there. There’s a scene in particular I have fond memories of in which Cut Killer is deejaying above the streets of his banlieue. So good."

"In this book, Ms. Adichie has constructed a full on romance that has the addictive power of a Jane Austen novel but with the specifics of life in Nigeria, as well as life in the United States as an immigrant. I fell in love with Ifemelu and Obinze in a way that I haven’t felt since I was a child reading novels for the first time."

"Well, I was a super fan of Katharine Hepburn as a kid, so let’s say The Philadelphia Story. I also really loved Cary Grant as a kid, so you could do a subset of, like, His Girl Friday; you know, Rosalind Russell, Cary Grant, incredible movie. The dialogue is just mindblowing. The pace at which they manage to speak, I find to be incredible."

"As I watched my daughter’s delighted face as I read her this book, I would send a silent “thank you” to the brain and heart of Jamie Lee Curtis. This is a story that celebrates the excitement an adoption brings to a family, while still normalizing the experience for all children who love to know about the moment they arrived to make a family whole."

"Ahh, it's gorgeous. The images I have, just putting it on on a Saturday morning. There's something always very quiet and leisurely about a Saturday morning, and again, it's just a complete album. I like the bass sound, it's a slightly more modern sound, and the brilliant execution, the mastery of it – I would say to anybody, just have that album, put it on and relax."
