Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor, Vol. 1: A Matter of Life and Death in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Individually the stories found in this volume are standard fare, good but not overly engaging. The arc they tell is also fine, just not outstanding. Which is a shame because the final segment is outstanding, but it comes as the capstone to a mostly alright endeavor. George Mann has a great grasp of the Eighth Doctor however, and it's worth reading for his "voice" if nothing else.
Jenny Houle (24 KP) rated Heart and Brain: Body Language: An Awkward Yeti Collection in Books
Jan 13, 2018
I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley for an unbiased opinion.
The Awkward Yeti may very well be my favorite online comic. This newest collection will make awesome holiday presents for any of your friends that feel the same way. The daily battle between our hearts and our brains is perfectly depicted. So happy I got a chance to review this.

Jessica Cashen (1 KP) rated 30th Century: Escape in Books
May 16, 2018
I couldn't get into the book at first, but once I did it was fast paced. Levin blends hard science, with sci-fi fantasy very well. Anyone who loves time travel, sci-fi and secret agents will love this book. It also has some graphic sex scenes. I hope there is a sequel. I received an ARC copy from #NetGalley for an voluntary, honest review.
Jessica Cashen (1 KP) rated Rowan Wood Legends (The Lost Clan #2) in Books
May 16, 2018
Another Great Book in The Lost Clan series. I absolutely loved this book, it is well written, great plot and characters. I like the conflict between the fairies and the hunters. Catori doesn't know who to trust and needs to follow her instincts. I was not expecting the romance at all. An overall great read. I received an ARC copy for a honest, voluntary review.
Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated The Perfect Hostage (Super Agent) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
A nice short read that I enjoyed but you have to read the others to know who all the characters are and what the've been through. This is the first i've read from this author and it won't be the last as I intend to catch up on the series. Plenty of action and suspense and also alittle heat. Also love the cover.

Title: Out of Place ARC
Author: Jennifer Blecher
Read Dates: June 1st- July 4th
Why did I choose to read this book?
I chose to read this book because I received the ARC of it and also because I can relate to the main character.
Did I like it? Yes, I loved it. I can relate to Cove I was bullied all throughout my life and also have wanted to be a fashion designer too since I was younger. (Make handmade custom clothing now) The book kinda made me cry and get very emotional because of that.
One character I disliked: The Mean Girls
Do I recommend this book? Yes, it will show younger kid's never to give up on your dreams and to ignore the bullies.
Questions for you:
1. Have you read this book?
2. Have you ever been bullied?
3. What's your "dream" or dream job?

David McK (3425 KP) rated Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, Vol 1: Galaxy's Deadliest in Books
Aug 29, 2021
In the original Star Wars trilogy - or, at least, ever since Empire Strikes Back - there was actually three main groups: that of the Rebels (Luke and co), that of the Empire (Darth Vader), and that of the 'scum and villainy' (Jabba the Hutt).
Of the latter, the Bounty Hunters first featured in Empire Strikes Back where far and away the coolest.
Which is why it is such a shame that this comic arc completely bungles the landing: hard to follow (I didn't even realise until a fair bit in that Valance was meant to be the main character), with the panels and lettering all over the place, and with a plot that takes its time spinning wheels, and that even has had its thunder stolen by The Mandalorian!
I might pick up the next arc, but only if it's own sale - doubt I'll pay full price for it!
