What. On. Earth. ?!?!?

I picked this one up out of curiosity as part of DC's ongoing hardbacked editions of famous(?) stories and, honestly? I wish I hadn't bothered.

The 'Final Crisis' was on ongoing series arc across several different properties - Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, etc - prior to the 'New 52' and - I have to say - is everything that would put average Joe off superhero comics in that I found the story to be convoluted, pretentious, and making next-to-no-sense-whatsoever.

Avoid.

Not what I expected from Lucy Wild. It's well written, characters are great and that twist at the end ?. I have to say though it's not a genre I'm used to from Lucy or what I would read and I felt that the surprise ending was rushed. I'll just have to wait for Lucy to find her kinky streak again ❤

Thanks to Penny, I got an ARC of this book. Presley Parker is hosting a murder mystery to raise money for San Francisco's de Young museum when the play's victim dies in real life. The final quarter seemed a little bumpy with Presley being over shocked by things I thought were obvious. The climax still surprised me and kept me turning the pages.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:

I kinda liked how this one ended. A horribly nice death for a character who was kinda silly and pointless anyway. Their whole arc felt jarring, at even at the end, when we know their single character trait they've been given, it felt really strange for the character to act the way they did.

Oh gosh, where do I begin! I couldn't put the book down. I was weary for maybe 5 minutes because I didn't understand why it started how it did, but I'm so glad it was written that way. I loved how Sadie would go from present time, to reliving a memory, and back again. I felt for her, I was frightened for her. I'm blessed to have been given the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. It was such an amazing read!

I won this ARC from a Goodreads Giveaway and because of all the great buzz it had already I was really excited to get it. I loved the way the chapters alternated between Sadie and West and I really loved that the ending wasn’t tied up in a nice little package. It felt more realistic which I enjoyed. I would recommend this book to someone and I’ll probably pass it off to a coworker who was really interested in it once I described it.
