Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Possessing the Night (Hunting the Dark Lord, Book 5) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Didn't really enjoy it. Could have been a hot read but sadly it didn't hit the mark with me.

Dominique Marie (7 KP) rated Dreams of Joy (Shanghai Girls #2) in Books

I love Lisa See's writing. This book is especially good when read with it's prequel, Shanghai Girls. (I received a free ARC of this book from a Goodreads Giveaway)

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Equal Rites: Discworld Novel 3 in Books
Dec 3, 2018 (Updated Mar 31, 2021)
A fun intro to the witches story arc. Not one of my favorite books, as I enjoy the dialogue between Granny & Nanny, it is still humorous and worth the read.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Quilt Me!: Using Inspirational Fabrics to Create Over 20 Beautiful Quilts in Books
Feb 13, 2018
**An Arc Copy From The Publisher**
A nice book with good clear instructions and a helpful guide on what fabrics to use, As the Arc copy of the book was only a sample I can only include comments on the couple of quilts that I saw which is disapointing, That said they were nice designs with good pictures and easy to follow instructions ideal for the beginner or for someone with more experience.

Bob Mann (459 KP) rated The Hummingbird Project (2018) in Movies
Jun 19, 2019
Portrayal of successful businesswoman in Selma Hayak (even though she's painted as the villain) (2 more)
Non standard story, and a very non-standard story-arc
Alexander Skarsgård - different role for him... great dance moves!
Engineering Porn with His Cousin Vinny.
A curious oddity of a film with a non-traditional story and an interestingly different story arc. One to really like if you are into heavy machinery, drilling rigs and electronics!

David McK (3251 KP) rated Star Wars Omnibus: X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Vol. 3 in Books
Jan 30, 2019
The third and final of the X-Wing omnibus editions, which contains the following 5 stories:
In the Empire's Service
The Making of Baron Fel
Family Ties
Masquerade
Mandatory Retirement
Well, when I say stories it's really one story arc told over all 5, with most of that arc concerning Baron Soontir Fel who (according to one panel) Vader had his TIE prototype made in order to avoid being beaten in sims by Fel. Set before the novels, the arc also takes in Ysanne Isard's - the main villain in the X-Wing novels - rise to power, but also leaves some plot elements hanging.
This, I felt, was the best of the three omnibuses: pity it was just in time for the series to end.

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Volume 8 - Breakfast at Tyranny's in Books
Jan 12, 2018
A subpar start to what had been a great on-going series, I hope this is rectified once we discover the secret of the longer arc that is developing. For more see www.travelingthevortex.com

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated James Bond, Vol. 2: Eidolon in Books
Jan 12, 2018
A far superior entry than the kick off story arc, this feels much more like Bond. Danger, girls, intrigue, all continuing in the hard edged style established in Vargr. Cant wait for more.

Jenn C (340 KP) rated Mockingbird, Vol. 2: My Feminist Agenda in Books
Aug 29, 2018
The first three chapters were awesome. The last two are completely different from a different series and not my style. The arc by Chelsea Cain though was amazing. Bobbi is badass and funny. Loved it!
