Such a unique concept. I'm a huge fan of how the main character has such a redemptive character arc. I really like it. The rest of the book was fine. Nothing to write home about.

Won this ARC in a Goodreads Giveaway earlier this year, I really enjoyed the cuteness of this book, very easy and quick read. I started and finished it in a couple hours, very cute love story.

Really liked this ARC I won from a Goodreads Giveaway, I found the characters relatable and realistic and could feel the emotions radiating off Lucy. Definitely will be on the lookout for more coming from Carola Lovering.

A side-step for the second and third story arcs
The second volume of the graphic novel series combines two distinct story arcs. These do not follow on from the issues with The Seven, or the conflict with Teenage Kix, and this kind of stands out from the first issue.
The first arc follows Butcher and Hughie trying to find out how a young gay man met his death, and has hilarious moments, mainly surrounding the Batman-esque Tek-Knight.
The second arc sees the team take a trip to Russia and uncover a plot to overthrow the government.
Both stories have the same feel of the first arc, but they feel like something of a distraction, and not much is done to build up the tension with The Seven (other than starting to uncover the CIA's reluctance to take Vought-American down).

I've listened to the McElroy family's 1st D&D campaign, The Balance Arc through at least twice, and it gives me all of the feelings.

It's like reading a really good fantasy series, except you had a full cast narrating and none of them knew what was going to happen.

The boys are now on their second arc, Amnesty. Already I'm feeling in love with these characters. Griffin is such a good storyteller (they all are).

Thank you brothers (and Clint) for the beautiful and hilarious stories.

Ok, on occasion these books can get a bit repetitive. However, there is a larger story arc that encompasses the series. Even though you could probably read the individual books early in the series in almost any order. This is a bridge book. Which for me is strange in the third book instead of the second. It bridges the beginning books to the over all arc. It is a reactionary book where the main character reacts to the bad guys instead of plans ahead or has time to change the gut reaction.

"It was a toss-up between this, Pickpocket, and The Passion of Joan of Arc, all of which develop along pronounced geometric lines that play beautifully on my boxy old Sony Trinitron. I kind of miss square media formats."

I absolutely loved this book....The author does creepy so well! A fast paced read and I couldn't put the book down. Well written, plot and characters. Get ready for a wild ride. I received an ARC copy for a voluntary, honest review.
