When Aaron is asked to clear a young man with Asperger Syndrome, he can't say no. The police do have a pretty compelling case, can Aaron prove he is innocent? The sub-plots threaten to take over at times, but the humor and characters kept me quickly turning pages.

Ugh, I hated Elizabeth, Jessica, Jeffrey, and Aaron so much in this book. Liz for being a hateful shrew to Heather because Heather dared to have different interests than St. Liz.

Aaron - for being a horrible person and not seeking help because of his Daddy Issues.

Jeffrey - for being a worthless enabler.

Jessica for being stupid and not reading a product label. And then actually profiting from her mistake. SERIOUSLY? They didn't bother to read the instructions! Why should thay win a frakkin' lawsuit?!

really loved this!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Naive runaway Sam finds himself in a bathhouse as a job. Aaron frequents the bathhouse, and has noticed that Sam has noticed him. When Sam finds himself in a bit of a pickle, Aaron's baser instincts kick in, and his protectiveness goes into overdrive. Is Sam really the submissive Aaron has been waiting for? Will Sam run again, when he understands what Aaron wants??

Thank you, Ms Knight, for a thoroughly enjoyable historical BDSM book! It's been a long time since I read such a book, and I loved this one!

Sam is truly naive, totally, in all ways, a virgin. He knows he doesn't like girls, at all, and he knows Aaron makes him think and feel all kinds of things he never did before, but Sam also knows he NEEDS something else, something he isn't able to voice. When Aaron begins Sam's training as his submissive, the penny drops and Sam fully immerses himself into Aaron's world, one training session at a time.

I loved that Aaron, while fully on board with Sam's "lets have sex now" attitude, he waits. He waits til Sam is really ready for that step. And once they do take that step? Both men fall fast and hard.

I loved that I found it not overly explicit, for some weird reason! It goes into detail, about training and what Sam and Aaron are doing, and it's hot hot hot, but not explicit, if that makes any sense! Reading that bit back, it doesn't, for me, but I can't word it any different! But I needed to say that, and that I loved it.

The way Aaron and Saul, Aaron's friend, deal with Sam's father was well done, and in a way that no one was hurt, and Sam could walk free from the fear that his father represented.

It is set in the 1920s so comes with all the rules and regulations and words of the time. And I really enjoyed that!

Book one in the Hampton Road Club series. I do hope I get to read the rest of them!

Thank you, Ms Knight, for my copy!

While an entertaining film with a strong lead performance from Aaron Paul and direction from Vince Gilligan, I can't shake the nagging feeling that this film didn't justify being made.

Excellent debut novel!
What a great book!
Set in Australia, police investigator Aaron Falk is called back to his rural childhood home to attend the funerals of his old friend Luke and his family.
However, Kiewarra is experiencing a crushing drought, which is killing the town; it looks like Luke killed himself and his family; and Aaron and his father were run out of town 20 years ago in connection with the death of Aaron and Luke's friend Ellie. Tempers and temeratures are boiling and Aaron is not welcomed by many who remember the past, especially when Luke's parents ask him to look into the circumstances around his death and that of his wife and child. Did Luke really kill them and them turn the gun on himself? Did Luke kill Ellie too?
This story is beautifully crafted by Jane Harper. It is a very impressive debut novel - atmospheric and tense, with lots of red herrings along the way. I loved that you were with Falk, and local policeman Raco, through every lead, and I was just as convinced as them that they were on the right track each time....and shared their disappointment and frustration when the leads did not pan out.
I really enjoyed the twist in Ellie's story at the end too - just when you thought you knew what had happened to her.
I think this will be one of my top reads this year! Now on to Harper's new Aaron Falk thriller Force of Nature!

I can't believe I legitimately liked a movie where Jessica Chastain was the lead character. Aaron Sorkin did an amazing job, because I was enthralled the entire time. Molly Bloom's story was incredibly interesting. It was a little long, but it did come full circle.

When Aaron sees a beautiful woman being shaken down by two corrupt cops on the streets of New York he steps in to try to help her. But Michelle does not need his help and is well able to deal with the police. However in the fracas Aaron is accidentally shot and fatally wounded. Michelle feels guilty and feels she has to save his life the only way she can - by turning him into what she is. A vampire.

Michelle teaches Aaron about his superhuman powers and how he has to live now but there is trouble brewing as Aaron comes to terms with his new life, the control Michelle has over him and letting go his old existence, the two corrupt police officers are determined to track Michelle down and make her pay.

Along the way there is plenty of sex. Vampires have always been sexy and the recent romantic resurgence of vampires has only emphasised this. Luedke takes this one step further. Vampire bites induce sexual arousal in their victims and Michelle teaches Aaron to use this with care, except when they are together when they are able to withstand each other's bites.

It would have been easy for the sex scenes to overwhelm the book but Luedke manages to keep everything as an integral part of the plot which evolves neatly throughout the course of the book as the various plot strands come together.

There are some terrific action scenes too with the vampires' hightened abilities resulting in some sequences that reminded me of The Matrix complete with 'bullet time'.

So if you want your vampires sexy and powerful and your stories thrilling and full of action this is the story for you.

Rated: Scenes of sex and violence. Frequent swearing.
