Kristin (149 KP) rated Forbidden Territory in Books

What can I say but this is yet another win for Melissa Pearl?!? She is honestly one of my favorite authors, and I have yet to read of book of hers where a) it didn't warrant far more than 5 stars, and b) I didn't contemplate forgoing work/sleep/etc to keep reading! Now, we have a tag-team authorship in the works, and I have to say it's been great so far!
Kudos to a bright start to what will definitely be another wonderful series, and I'm already anxiously awaiting these girls' next adventure. =D
5 stars (of course)

Enjoyment throughout Exceptional
This book and its following instalments kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. So much so i went out and got everything i could to do with it and i was not left with a sour taste. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Feyre's journey is something i have been happy to read and get lost in. Such beautiful descriptions and an amazingly captivating story. I just get lost in it and will continue to do so each time i re-read it because it mesmerises me and its an adventure all the way worthy a true legend.
I bought this book while on holiday in Queensland because I had finished my other one, I am a huge YA fan, and it was relatively inexpensive. I am so glad that I did. I pretty much devoured the novel over the course of one day because I was so hooked. Besides being minorly predictable to those of us who have read their fair share of YA fiction, Holland did an excellent job of blending just the right amount of romance and adventure to keep me wanting to read more. I can't wait to read the next book.

Joelene Marie (28 KP) rated The Invisible Library in Books

The first in a new series, the invisible library is one I couldn't put down. I loved that it was a mystery surrounding the acquisition of my favorite thing in the world...books. I would have liked a little more backstory about the library itself in the beginning but it wasn't any real hindrance to the story. The action starts from the very beginning and the adventure continues until the end. I can't wait to read the next book and immerse myself back into this wonderful world. Highly recommended! Thanks to Penguin and First to Read for the ARC!

The Craggus (360 KP) rated Overlord (2018) in Movies

Formulaic WW2 action horror Overlord (2018) is Nazi movie you may be expecting. #Review
Much less of an out-and-out horror film than the trailers would suggest, “Overlord” is, in fact, a brutal and tense World War II action adventure which belatedly takes a horror turn in its final act.
As stylish as it is, it doesn’t stray very far from the ‘big book of war movie tropes’ as rewritten by Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan” and much of its sound and fury war-is-Hell big moments have already appeared in the marketing...

Just finished watching this with my little guy. I enjoyed it but as a parent i like it for a diiferent reason. Lets break it down.
Friends helping each other
Friends going on an adventure
Friends going finding out stuff about them selves
Friends seperating and going their own ways.
I have 3 boys and my oldest is going off to college so i seen this break down in his life. my youngest is 10yrs younger and he pointed that this movie seems to be like his older brother life and his friends.
Dont take movies a face value you might learn something.

Great movie
Contains spoilers, click to show
I love this movie it ties in true cajun culture and it goes to show that hard work really pays off to get what you dream of. Tianna is a hard working waitress who dreams of getting the restaurant her father always dreamed of to get for her. Naveen is a prince who us carefree and spoiled. They find love in each other on their adventure to be turned back into humans after naveen was messing with voodoo. They meet a gator named Louis and a firefly named ray that help them on their journey.

Gisell Middleton (189 KP) rated White Stag (Permafrost, #1) in Books

This book was thrilling, exhilarating and fun. I was intrigued at once by the setting and situation. The characters were relatable (in their own way) in that we’ve all met people like them; with those qualities, desires and drives. At some point I was a bit confused by the “rules” but overall the author does a great job of explaining the new realm as well as telling an interesting and adventure-filled story. I can’t wait to read the sequel and a prequel or two if they come about. The Permafrost and characters have many more tales in them.

Basic!
This is a story of a young girl struggling to adjust to her new life, new school, new family, out if the blue the two step sisters are made to spend the day together where they don't stick to the plan and go off for a small adventure with some friends but end up scuba diving where things go from bad to worse, a few jumpy bits I didn't expect. The story line it's self was really good I did however think the sharks didn't look all that real, on the whole it was a good watch.
