An entertaining read!
Jenni is a maths teacher in a secondary school, and used to be in the armed forces. When one of her students, Destiny, arrives at school with a black eye, Jenni decides that she needs help - radical help, in fact, after a man turns up to collect Destiny from school with a gun tucked in to his belt. Jenni believes she must help Destiny to escape from a seriously dangerous situation. However, there’s much more to this story.

In fact, there is a lot to think about in this story: the way children are treated in the care system, the support for ex-servicemen and women, and human trafficking.

I liked the different perspectives that this was told in: Jenni, Destiny, and a couple of chapters told from the point of view of the Headteacher of Jenni and Destiny’s school. The different perspectives don’t always tell the same story though - and this is an important part of the whole story.

I liked this. It was an uncomfortable read at times, but I felt well entertained! And as usual, I enjoyed the whole Pigeonhole experience!

Omg. I've literally just watched this movie an hour ago and I had to come here to write this! After watching the trailer I had my suspicions on who killed Harlan the Grandad. *cough* Jacob *cough* but never would I have guessed Ransom! Not until the end anyway! And poor Marta! I fully believed she had killed him when it came to light in the beginning which I found so strange to reveal the killer that early on but I sharp found out why!!! It wasnt even her! Such a fantastic movie with twist and turns at every scene, like a real game of Cluedo! I was with ot the whole time and if this is a book, I'm reading it tonight and if it isnt, it need written!!!! So amazing! Great casting, I love Jamie Lee Curtis and her character is so sassy! Chris Evan's, sexy as always! And even Daniel Craig who I thought would sound like a crap James Bond disguised as a Texan turned out to be a huge character in the movie and I loved him by the end! Great movie, will watch again!

Look, there had to be something British on the list! Brighton Rock, Get Carter, The Long Good Friday and Sexy Beast were all considered, as was Ritchie’s own follow up to this stylised romp, Snatch. But, in the end, I chose this because it is the most fun to watch, and really re-invented the non American crime film. For my money a tighter film than Snatch, and less silly, Lock Stock has a naivety that puts you on an equal footing with its protagonists and keeps you engaged from start to hilarious finish. Its sense of humour is key to its success, as we watch one botched effort to get ahead after another. The pay off moments are glorious, and the whole package is wrapped up in every cinematic trick in the book, making it a dizzying rollercoaster experience you never forget first watching. There is a nastiness of spirit and “laddishness” underlying it that is perhaps a little too indulged without a sense of irony, but you can always forgive it. Will it continue to age as well as some on this list, I’m not sure.

Co-op taking away tension of competitive (3 more)
Fun for all ages after a few rule adjustments
The story its self is a rich, beautiful tale of adventure
Combat is simple
For people new to the genre, reading all the rules including those for new tile spaces could be cumbersome (0 more)
Mice and Mystics is a great story telling boardgame in a series by Jerry Hawthorne. The game follows Prince Collin and his court of advisors who turn themselves to mice to escape certain death at the hands of an evil witch.

The whole game plays out by reading the story that accompanies the box and then playing out scenarios depicted by board pieces and using beautifully sculpted miniatures to navigate and fight the queens rat forces, spiders and more.
Its a game for the whole family which is brilliant, although to keep things moving smoothly for younger kids some rules can be stripped back for sure. This game is imaginative, difficulty can ramp up quickly making it challenging for all level of players and even though its co-op you can always just compete for kills......Centipedes only count as one.

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
Ten-year-old Glory Bea Bennett believes in miracles. After all, her grandmother—the best matchmaker in the whole county—is responsible for thirty-nine of them so far.

Now, Glory Bea wants a miracle of her own—her daddy’s return.

The war ended three years ago, but Glory Bea’s father never returned from the front in France. She believes Daddy is still out there.

When reports that the Texas boxcar from the Merci Train—a train filled with gifts of gratitude from the people of France—will be stopping in Gladiola, Glory Bea just knows Daddy will be its surprise cargo.

But miracles, like people, are always changing, until at last they find their way home.

"Gorgeously Pointless" sums this up for me. In general I find the Disney live action remakes pretty pointless. Why try, other than to fill Disney coffers? (Which I guess is the producer’s point!) And my opinion hasn’t changed after this. I still think its a rather pointless exercise, particularly in this case where there is no human cast.

With these things, I always think of Jim Carrey‘s cry at the end of his version of “I am the Walrus”. He screams “There, I did it. I defiled a timeless piece of art”. Jon Favreau can at least sleep happy (sic) in his bed content that he hasn’t managed to do that. I can’t say I was horrified by this one, because I wasn’t. It was majestic, entertaining, technically superb and certainly had its moments.

The acid test for me would be “would I go and see that again”. And in this case the answer would be “yes”.
