Not quite sure how I feel about the album. When I first recieved it, I was quite excited about the Latin theme and many of the tracks that featured Latin singers that I am a rather large fan of. After listening though, I found that on many of these tracks the Latin artists don't get any of the spot light. In addition each song on the album gives drastically different vibes, that leaves the listener attempting to understand what story Madonna was trying to paint with this album. I will say there are a few songs that stuck in my head and had me singing them for a few hours, but nothing that made me want to come back to them over and over again.

Emily (1430 KP) rated Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future by Underworld in Music

You hear the beat of the first track and you know it's going to be a good Underworld album. This whole album seems to be more beat/bass focused than their more melodic ones, but it works well. Starts off quite energetic and bright at the beginning, then allows down and has a darker feel for tracks 4 and 5 before lightening up again towards the end. I didn't really dislike any tracks, although preferred the more energetic ones, but also nothing really stood out, unlike previous albums where there have been one or two tracks that I just love listening to again and again. If I had to pick a favourite track it would be the first one, "I Exhale".

Rolling Stone's 343rd greatest album of all time
I'm still in shock at how early in the top 500 this appears. I would have thought it would be at least top 200, if not top 50. The title track is one of the best known rock songs ever, and yet so many people won't have heard the full album version - in my opinion the section removed for the single is the best part of the song.
Added to this the superb Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Two out of Three Ain't Bad (I was told off by my wife for suggesting this referred to our three kids) and You Took The Words Right Out My Mouth, as well as the sombre heartfelt Heaven Can Wait.
Just an utterly superb album.
