So you guys remember the naked man in the alley?
Now he’s my mate along with one of his friends. I might also have my eyes on the other two as well because why not? Oh yeah forgot to mention, turns out I’m a werewolf, hence the mating thing. Not only that but I’m the only Alpha Female in existence, which makes sense why that asshole of a fake fiance wanted to keep me for himself.
*Girl you suck at explaining what's going on.*
Shut up I’ve got this handled. Managed to do it last time without you.
Anyway…
Thanks to the four men who came crashing into my life, I was rescued and kept safe. Now I’m on a plane to who the hell knows where while the guys keep alluding to the fact that I have an important role to play in their world. Am I ready to step into whatever they have waiting for me? I’ve only been a werewolf for two weeks and still have so much to learn.
That was so much better than book 1! Hopes wolf is just brilliant I loved it the first time round but this was better. The story had an interesting take I loved her different mates and the pack she now leads. The ending was a cliffhanger but a really good one. Definitely moving on to book 3!

Merissa (13169 KP) rated The Sterling Acquisition (Manufactured Mates #1) in Books
Sep 1, 2025
THE STERLING ACQUISITION is the first book in the Manufactured Mates series, and introduces you to a dystopian Omegaverse. Dante works for Gensyn and has gone to the SVI sector, all in the name of corporate espionage. As part of that plan, he meets with Leo, an alpha who is well-known for having a troublesome omega, Orion. Leo is supposed to be his 'in' for the espionage, but instead, Dante becomes obsessed with Orion. What follows is a story of (literally) how one person can change the other.
This was a great, different story that I not only enjoyed but also appreciated. I don't know if I'd survive in that world, especially not in the corporate world, as their corporate-speak left me cold. In fact, I nearly gave up on the story because I didn't like it that much! Stick with it - it gets better, I promise. The corporate-speak is there for a reason, and you will easily see the difference it marks as the story progresses.
Evenly paced and well written, this story hooked me in. The main characters are great, and are also ably supported by side characters, all of whom have hidden depths. Well, most of them. I look forward to returning to this world and seeing more of how the Primal Triad develops.

Merissa (13169 KP) rated Emerald Flame (Flame #6) in Books

Emerald Flame (Flame #6) by Caris Roane
Emerald Flame is the sixth book in the Flame series by Caris Roane. We focus on Warren, Alpha of the Cordion pack, and Kiara, a witch who has worked closely with wolves in the past. In fact, she has set up a refuge centre for those that rescued from the various sex clubs. They spend time there, dealing with what has happened to them, and learning to fit in with pack life again. She likes Warren, Warren likes her, neither of them want anything long term. They are also working against Julio, who has taken over too many packs for their liking. When he attacks Ralph, a friend of both Warren and Kiara, things step up and the action kicks into gear.
This is a hot story, full of action and steaminess. With an alter wife thrown into the mix too, I wasn't sure where it would go, but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It is smoothly written, with one scene flowing nicely into the next. There were no editing or grammatical errors that jumped out at me whilst I was reading it. The characters are all fully believable and behave in a realistic way. This is a full-length novel, and it was nice to be able to sink my teeth into it properly. I would highly recommend this book, and this series, to all lovers of the paranormal genre.

Merissa (13169 KP) rated Knights of Stone: Lachlan (Highland Gargoyles #2) in Books
Aug 23, 2017
Knights of Stone: Lachlan (Highland Gargoyles, #2)
Knights of Stone: Lachlan is the second book in the Highland Gargoyles series. Lachlan is the eldest of the brothers, and the alpha of their small clan left on the island. This book follows on from the ground-work done in Mason. The triad of Gargoyles, Tree Witches, and Wolves, are finally meeting on neutral ground to try and do what is best for the island as a whole, rather than just their group. Of course, it's not going to happen overnight, but any place needs a starting point. Things get interesting for Lachlan when he meets Raina, at the meeting in her capacity as Beta to the Wolves. The spark is there immediately for both of them, and they both deny it! Neither of them trust, or want, to be with the other. However working together gives them a different perspective on each other, and they are thrown in each other's direction.
This is a smoothly paced, action-packed novella in the Highland Gargoyles series, and we get to see more of the Wolf pack. This is a follow-on story, as it only happens because of Mason and Kayla. So I would definitely recommend that you read this in order. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is a well-rounded book, with wonderful world-building and characters. Definitely recommended by me.

MaryAnn (14 KP) rated Beauty Begins: Making Peace with Your Reflection in Books
Mar 5, 2019
Beauty Begins is written by mother-daughter team Chris Shook and Megan Shook Alpha. They have written a book that illustrates what true beauty is and how we as Christians should look at ourselves.
They teach us how to be satisfied with the looks that have been given to us by God and how to look toward our inner beauty rather than focusing on the outer image.
We do live in a society that puts a huge emphasis on the outer image. We see it on the television, in magazines, in advertising. Everywhere you turn you hear about weight loss programs, how to look younger, to be more fit.
I truly enjoyed this book. This is a must-read for every woman no matter what her age. Young or old it needs to be read. My copy is now high lighted and dog-eared. It will be my go-to reference for women (other than the Bible) to teach them about their true inner beauty.
I highly recommend this book, it's well researched, well written and thought motivating for all women who read this. You will come away with a new perspective on how to truly love yourself.
This is a book that can be read alone, or with a group or even as a study for women's groups or a Bible study.
I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own. Merissa (13169 KP) rated Natasha (Blackbird #2) in Books
Dec 17, 2018
This series started with a bang when we met Ivy and her beloved Alpha Gits, Steve and Gareth. Would this book be able to match that one? The simple answer is yes, yes it can. As this book is about Natasha and Darren, they are obviously the main ones we see. However, we do still see Ivy, Gareth and Steve as well as the others from Blackbird Security as Ivy once more tries to remain out of the Auctioneer's clutches.
Darren and Natasha have a history together, a difficult history. So much so that Darren needed all the help of his pack to keep him together after their last meeting. Will it be any different this time? I love Ivy's answer to Natasha as they are talking about it - “You know what I love about history?” Ivy stood from the couch she‟d been curled up on to make her way into the kitchen to start making tea. “It‟s in the past. You don‟t have to give a damn about it, unless you want to.”
This is a wonderful, fast paced addition to the Blackbird Series, written in Dahlia Donovan's inimitable style. I loved seeing Ivy and her gits again and I think I always will. What was brilliant though was being able to 'meet' some of the others and learn more about them. I can't wait for the other stories that I hope won't be too long in making an appearance but for some reason, I am especially looking forward to Elaine's. She's prickly and stand-offish and I love her.
Highly recommended.
