Rolling Stone's 40th greatest album of all time
I remember this album having something of a resurgence about 10 years ago, but I cannot think why then. The album begins with Alone Again Or, which is a phenomenal soft jazzy psychedelic song. However after that it takes something of a turn and becomes instantly MOR American rock, with negligible amounts of psychedelia. A good listen but the opening track on its own is significantly better than what follows. If you haven't heard it, I recommend The Damned's cover of Alone Again Or, it popped up in a punk playlist on spotify and is a very good alternative version while still being respectful to the original.

Never Gets Old
Not the show for close minded people. This show is out there in the best kind of way. I will never get tired of seeing it and nothing is better than sharing it with someone who has never seen it before. I recommend everyone sees this film at least once. This film has an occult following to it thats developed into a culture of its own. The live showings are colorful, fun, and freeing. I recommend looking up the alternative scripit and if nothing else reading along with the show. As if the commentary of the film itself isnt good enough you have a further following from this interactive audience scripiting.

Fun Middle School Origin Story
Bruce Wayne stands out at his middle school, Gotham Preparatory School for the Really, Really Gifted. No, not because of the wealth he’s inherited from him parents but because he’s the only one without any powers. But when he sees a student bullying another kid, he decides he has to do something. Will he come up with a plan?

This is a fun alternative take on Batman’s origins including cameos from other DC super heroes. The story was entertaining, and I laughed multiple times as I was reading. Be sure to look at the illustrations since some of the jokes are in there. This graphic novel is a very fun read.

HOAX is an indie pop-rock outfit from Queens, New York. Not too long ago, they released a groovy alternative-rock tune, entitled, “Could”.

“We could be right or we could be wrong, together. When Daffodil Skies, they bloom in the darkest weather. Make up a lie. Tell yourself you’re fine like your mother and father did before. Eat yourself alive. You open up but the words are all tongue-tied.” – lyrics

‘Could’ tells an interesting tale of a young guy who knows that his relationship with his significant other is in survival mode.

Apparently, late one night, his mind is occupied with stimulating thoughts, which question the life that he’s living. While pondering, he realizes that he and his partner are wasting their time on mindless entertainment.

Later, he admits that behind their broken smiles, they struggle to find a reason behind their need to survive.

‘Could’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and lush instrumentation scented with an indie-alternative fragrance.

“‘Could’ is the first snapshot of many narratives told in the forms of songs on the album that opens up a begrudging conversation everyone must eventually come to have with oneself. Questions that highlight the essence of BEING, which if not asked in a timely manner, might result in years and years passing by. Until you finally look backward through a telescope of regret.” – Michael Raj & Frantz Cesar

‘Could’ is an episode in a series of stories exploring the human condition of Being. The likable tune is the first single from HOAX’s upcoming debut album, entitled, “b?”, which took two years to make.

Also, the LP follows the narratives of thirteen different characters, thrown together in the aftermath of an otherworldly series of events.

The intertwined stories are centered around the abstract concepts of: “BEING”. An evident obsession of both the characters in the story and the band members themselves.

The dichotomy of BEING vs. DOING is highlighted through careful lyrical content on the album.

HOAX is the musical brainchild of Michael Raj and Frantz Cesar. They view themselves as “the beautiful sound of sadness”, a description coined by a close friend.

Their modern vintage sound draws from a wide range of influences such as ‘60s pop, ‘70s Motown, and alternative R&B music.

Smolder (Underground Encounters #1) by Lisa Carlisle
Smolder is the first book in the Underground Encounters series, and we start off this new series with a blast - quite literally! Nike, and her best friend Maya, are the only two firefighters where they work, and they both like 'alternative' music. So whenever they get some time off, they go to Vamps, the best 'alternative' club. Nike is a very shy person, which is often mistaken for her being bitchy. So when she sees the man she has been lusting after from the local rock-climbing club at Vamps, she stumbles over her words. Things move quickly between them, and the story really kicks in.

This is a fast-paced novella, and that really is my only complaint about this book! I would have loved to have known more. I loved Nike, and her common-sense, no-nonsense, approach to something that she seriously wasn't expecting. Michel is a perfect partner for her, a case of opposites attracting. With attraction, danger, lust, and supernaturals, this book was very well written, drawing the reader into the world without any trouble. There were no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed, and I thoroughly enjoyed this first novella. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Definitely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

I got really excited when I saw this book! I love reading about disasters and post apocalyptic and the concept of a super volcano under Yellowstone is something that fascinates me. [Supervolcano: Eruption] by [Harry Turtledove] lived up to all my expectations. The characters were well developed and very believable. The intertwining stories kept the plot moving.

Usually I have stayed away from [Harry Turtledove] since stuff with aliens is not my thing and that is what I thought about when I saw his books but in the first installment of [Supervolcano] I was happy to not see one alien! [Turtledove] does have a good story telling style and perhaps I may give some of his alternative history a shot.

Disclaimer: I am not an online gamer, so when I play through Battlefield or COD, I am simply reviewing the campaign.
Battlefield 1 is set during the first world war, which isn't a setting that we have seen much before in video games. The campaign is broke up into several different soldier's stories and each of them is engaging and entertaining in their own right. The weapons and mechanics are fun to experiment with as well, even if some liberties are taken with the level of weaponry available at the time. If you like FPS games and are looking for an alternative to futuristic sci fi shooters, then this is one for you.

Hmm...I liked how Caleb "wrote" it as if talking out loud and directly to us at certain points of the story. And it was nice to see how he changed and began to fit in with society instead of being a reclusive so-and-so.

I have to admit I got a bit fed up of all the sex involved in it. I think it's because I got used to the darker bits of the previous two mixed in with a captivating storyline, while this was more just based on their getting over what they'd been through.

Nevertheless it was a good story and I liked it; that alternative ending made me smile. Or maybe it's just the new Caleb/James :D

If Only There Was A Better Alternative
If I could convince all my Facebook friends to move to another site, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat! Yes, there's fun stuff & great info that I wouldn't normally come across any where else. But it comes at a price. With all the info Facebook has gathered on me, sometimes I feel like they know more about me then I do. I've been the victim of (& witnessed others be victims of) bullying numerous times. 99% of the time, Facebook does nothing about it. I report the problem, & the typical response is that "it doesn't violate Facebook's community standards". I've been hacked on their Messenger app. People can be downright cruel in the comment section of any article. There are bugs that keep getting worse instead of better. For example, I'm reading an article or watching a video I've clicked on. When I'm finished, instead of taking me back to where I was in my news feed, I'm sent back to the beginning. Once is frustrating. After that it's painfully irritating! There's so much more! I'll just sum it up by saying "Facebook has become a cesspool of negativity." I would leave the app, but I'd either lose people completely that can't or won't use other apps, or I'd have to use a boatload of apps, because of course people won't agree on the same alternative.

Meg is the assistant direct at the Un-fair, a local alternative to the state fair. The first morning things get off to a rough start with some vandalism and theft, including two heritage chickens from the chicken tent. Throw in tension in the wine pavilion and things are hoping before the dead body shows up.

While I didn't find this one as laugh out loud funny as some of the previous entries, I did really enjoy it. The plot was good and the characters - new and old - were fun. Meg's twins stole every scene they were in, too. Fans of the series or lighter cozies in general will love it.
