Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated The Curse of the Blue Figurine (Johnny Dixon, #1) in Books
Dec 31, 2019
Creeepy!!!!
This book I discovered when I was 10 and it's still one of the creepiest books ever to me. The slow build up of dread in a kids book is amazing.
Also Prof. Childermass is one of my favorite characters. Who wouldn't want to be a crotchety old dude with a fuss closet?

Lucy (8 KP) rated Bird Box (2018) in Movies
Jan 22, 2019
I thoroughly enjoyed this film I liked the concepts and the suspense throughout it. The storyline was good and the actors were amazing. However it would've been better if they gave a bit more backstory of the characters and how 'the virus' came about and what it actually was. I can't wait to read the book.

Russ Troutt (291 KP) rated Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018) in Movies
Jul 2, 2019
Sicario: Day of the Soldado was muy bueno. Taylor Sheridan has written another amazing script and great follow up to the first Sicario movie. Thankfully I didn't have to illegally cross any borders to get to the theater and see this, but it's totally worth the risk of doing so if that's what you gotta do; it's that good.

Chayu (810 KP) rated Lucifer - Season 2 in TV
Jul 27, 2019
Still fun, less interesting
This season is less fun and less interesting. Whole season is basically about Lucifer family problems...and they are boring. Jokes are still there, but there is not enough of them to make this season interesting as the first season. Still amazing acting and cast as before. Some great moments.

Cant put it down (2 more)
Pulls you deep into the characters lives
Historically correct
Totally hooks you, amazing story that leaves you wanting the story to continue. The author doesn't skim over the horrors of war but writes it in such a way that you feel like your stood on the front lines along with the characters.

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Empire of Ivory (Temeraire #4) in Books
Nov 4, 2019
Poor Laurence and Temeraire are in the thick of it again. this amazing story that deals with loyalty and betrayal will make you think and examine everything you thought you knew. I love how turn of the century England is portrayed. And we get to see more angry Laurence. Africa will hold many surprises and hopefully a cure.

Description and detail was really good.
Book flowed really nicely
The first of a great series
Great first book in the series. The book is set in Aberdeen Scotland, and being an Aberdonian I found it amazing how the detail and descriptions made me visualise the streets and places in my mind
