Brilliant score.
Well written dialogue.
The Greater Good
Definitely my favourite movie of 2016. The cast are amazing, Pine and Foster are brilliant together and Jeff Bridges is incredible in his role as well. The score is fantastic, penned by the legendary Nick Cave and the whole thing is shot beautifully. I could praise this movie all day, but really everyone should see it for themselves.

Another Spielberg classic
One of the first films to have the technology to make dinosaurs look real. It's a great concept, who wouldn't want to visit a Dinosaur theme park. Unlike Disney World though when things go wrong the guests don't get eaten! Probably one of my most watched films.

I See Colors

It was an AMAZING book, but I absolutely hated the way their world worked, nobody being able to see colors, nobody being able to fall in love, or have kids, or do anything .

But still, I loved it, and I feel that the boy was smart to run away, and save Gabe as well.

Educational
Personally, I loved this book. A full-on fairy-tale itself, it incorporates so many details that I wouldn't have even thought of. Very few plot holes were left open, and I loved how the author incorporated details from the original versions of the books, and not only the Disney versions.

I loved the way this book went, full of surprises and so many amazing things. Definetely worth your time.

Excellent Fantasy Series
I love Robin Hobb's books because they are all amazing. The Assassin's Apprentice is the first book in The Farseer trilogy and it's an excellent series. This is the book that starts it all and it is interesting with complex characters and wonderful storytelling. It's an excellent fantasy series and she has later books that involve more adventures with Fitz and the Fool that are equally brilliant.

This book was full of insight. If you've ever wondered how some museums got certain antiquities, this has a lot of answers. While, it doesn't happen with every single museum, it still makes you wonder. This book focuses on the J. Paul Getty Museum in LA. It was immensely readable, and I loved it. The book also had an amazing bibliography, which led me to other books about the same subject.

I got to see the original Rosetta stone the other day. It's truly an amazing artifact that unlocked so much knowledge that might otherwise have been lost.

In that spirit, I'd love to hear from you: What is your favorite book/movie/TV show that has been translated from another language? (Dubbing and subtitles are both acceptable).

Mine are currently One Hundred Years of Solitude and Njáls saga.

Books are altogether another behemoth as most have been translated into other languages. Authors such as Albert Camus, Franz Kafka, Jean Paul Sartre, Dostoevsky, Gunther Grass, Han Kang, Rousseau, Christine de Pizan...it's endless ?

The Hangman's Daughter series, by Oliver Pötzsch, is one of my favorite translations. Originally published in German, I believe. I read them a few years ago - the first one here: https://goddessinthestacks.wordpress.com/2013/10/21/the-hangmans-daughter-by-oliver-potzsch/
and the next three several months later: https://goddessinthestacks.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/book-review-the-dark-monk-the-beggar-king-and-the-poisoned-pilgrim/

One of my favourite musicals! It's such a mix of emotions - you're not sure how you're meant to feel when watching it. You love the main female leads but at the end of the day they're murderers. The music is amazing and so catchy. The film is extremely pleasant to watch and really makes you think about that time in America and more specifically the justice system in place.

OMG... I just can't. This book was epic. I love how much the story gripped me and wouldn't let go. It was a great sequel to the first. You learned more about the characters you already loved and it makes you love them more. I can't wait to read the next one. The world created in this book is amazing. It's definitely in my top 10 series to read.

This book was absolutely amazing. It touched me in a way a book hadn't in years. The characters are so real that you feel as if you know them. I'm surprised that more people haven't heard of this book and it's hard to find on many sites. It's great for anyone in their teens or up. I'd love to find a copy to reread from time to time.
