Erika (17789 KP) rated Tenet (2020) in Movies
Sep 2, 2020 (Updated Sep 5, 2020)
I saw this film, FINALLY; the first showing in IMAX on the 31st via 'Early Access'. It was completely amazing on IMAX and it definitely needs to be seen that way, since that was the film Nolan shot it on.
I was glad that a movie made me think and I gave all of my attention to it. Honestly, I was able to figure out a lot of it before it was revealed, but that wasn't a bad, Hint, whenever you think something is a weird continuity error, it's not, it's intentional. The in-camera effects (as Nolan calls it) were AMAZING, Only Nolan could convince a working airport to let him crash a real plane into a building. Directors should take note that practical effects will ALWAYS look better than CGI.
The cast was amazing, and John David Washington, holy cow does he have physical prowess. I love Robert Pattinson in almost everything, and I really liked his character.
I can't say at this point whether I absolutely loved it, or just like it. I had this same issue with Dunkirk, where I know I liked it, but not how much (BTW I loved it after the 2nd viewing). I've already booked my ticket to see Tenet again on Friday.
EDIT: I saw Tenet again, and now I know for sure, that I really liked it! I'm pretty sure Robert Pattinson is my favorite character in the whole film.

Meh
So this was a REALLY good book in so many ways but I can't help but feel majorly disappointed with it. Anytime I mentioned to anyone that I was about to read it or was reading it said 'Oh my god it's amazing' and I heard it so many times that when I finished the book I felt like the end was missing. Like someone had pulled the remaining pages out of it. I don't know if I'm being really harsh about it but the book just ended. I felt like it was just a series of events.
The idea behind the book had me interested. I thought it was such an amazing plot but I just felt like there was zero point to the book. There was just a begining, middle and an end. And I really wanted to say that I enjoyed it as well. No wonder I've never been able to get through the film.

Abducted in Plain Sight
I sat down on Friday night and watched this documentary. From a dubious position, my wife wanted to watch it and i had doubts.
Was so good. Obviously its not everyones cup of tea but the way the story pans out is amazing. And if it wasnt true story it would be too far-fetched to make up a story like this.
I would seriously recommend this to anybody that likes true life crime movies and programmes.
I feel so sorry for this family and i would never spoiler any film as it would ruin and alter the vision experience you recieve

I honestly wasn't sure about this movie before watching it. I didn't want to watch another spider man origin story but I have to say this film blew me away.
The animation style of this film is amazing. It feels fresh and new whilst keeping the comic book feel too it which I really enjoyed. I can tell that in 3D it would have been even more epic on the big screen. Also the soundtrack that accompanies the film is epic... Some great choices there.
The voice actors were amazing and great choices and it was great and emotional to see Stan Lees cameo performance as well, especially as it was released around the time of his passing.
If your not sure about seeing this or think that the animation will take away from it it really really doesn't and totally adds to it so watch it when you can.

EPIC
Coffey (Michael Clark Duncan RIP) is arrested with the charges of killing two young girls and is sentenced to death and comes to live on death row with a couple of guards and a few wild inmates. He is also blessed with an amazing gift that allows him to take the pain away from people only to inflict a horrible pain on himself. Edgecomb (Hanks) who is the lead guard takes a liking to him and learns of this gift first hand and has him help others in massive need of help even though it was gonna hurt him even more. Many of things happen from a cruel guard who finally learns his place to a fun loving mouse who finds a home with a unusual tenant. This power that Coffey has is shown through out the movie and the different ways it works is astonishing.
The cast in this movie were absolutely amazing couldn't see or would want to see another group try

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2395 KP) rated Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Kyle Keeley isn’t excited about the new library in town until he finds out that Mr. Lemoncello helped design it. It’s got to have plenty of cool stuff if the creator of so many amazing games is behind it. He is thrilled to win an overnight preview, but it turns into a contest the next day when he and the others inside the library learn they are in a contest to figure out puzzles to get out of the library. Can he do it?
I put this book off for too long. The story is fun and I got caught up in the action the further I went into the book. I’m not a puzzle person, but fortunately the characters figure things out for us. (I would be sunk in their position). Plus, I would absolutely love to visit this library. It sounds absolutely amazing.

BobbiesDustyPages (1259 KP) rated Marvel's Jessica Jones - Season 1 in TV
Mar 14, 2018
film noir style (3 more)
amazing character development
strong female characters
perfect casting
She'll kick your ass, steal your wallet and all without spilling her drink
Jessica Jones Season 1 was such an amazing take on the comic books and really just gave me what I've been missing from the Marvel Universe. Krysten Ritter was not someone I would have picked to play Jessica Jones but she took the role by the horns and really just blew me away.
The show has some of the not only best female characters I've come across but has some of the best relationships between female characters which a lot of tv shows and movies miss out on for some reason.
For me though David Tennant was just the one that stole the entire show every time he was on screen he just drew you in and you just could not look away from him.
