Leah. She is so amazing, her stories like poetry, words like silk.
Okay, so I'm not as good as it as she is, but her writing style is beautiful in an agonizing sort of way. Even in the midst of turmoil, while suffering and brokenhearted, Leah could make a reader see the beauty in the pain. Her metaphors were like magic and painted a surreal picture that I saw all too vividly in my mind.
This story was so different, I had no clues as to where it was heading. Sometimes I didn't even understand where it was at the time I was reading. Other times, I had to stay confused about a section of the past, knowing I would get answers later. Each twist and turn took me by surprise - I had very uncertain guesses, and few of them were right. Laney's trip, her desperation for revenge, took me along an unsteady ride that I kept expecting to fall right off of. From the beginning straight until the end, I was on a ledge.
Leah did an amazing job with this one. I was most definitely not disappointed.

Zachary Levi is amazing and charisma leaps off screen. (1 more)
A fun enjoyable film that flew by.
Seemed a bit simplistic. (1 more)
Cooper Andrews is wasted in his supporting role.
An actual fun DC movie.
It goes without saying that most modern DC Universe movies tend to be on the dark and very serious side. So, this was a nice turn. Once the villain is introduced in typical DC dark fashion, the movie tilts to the lightness of youth and the chicanery that can ensue. So many light-hearted fun moments throughout. Zachary Levi is brilliant as the quick-quipping hero and embraces his child alter ego with ease. While the gaining understanding of powers and defeat of the villian seemed a little simplistic to me, overall it was just a fun, enjoyable film. The time flew by. It had laughs. It had heart. The cast had amazing charisma and chemistry. (Though the incredibly charismatic Cooper Andrews is kinda wasted in his supporting role.) While I think Batman and Superman need the gravitas, the light tone fit perfectly here. Great job by DC and a hope that they are making changes for the future thread of films in this universe.

At a top secret research facility in the 1950s, a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature that is being held in captivity.
A wonderful way to end the month. This was bizarre, and amazing, just as you would expect. Another one this month that I agree deserves all the award nominations it received.
Considering two of the main characters are essentially mute there was nothing left unsaid. The chemistry of everyone on screen made for amazing viewing.
Seeing Michael Shannon in this after his rendition in 12 Strong only days before was a little confusing, and throw in Zod and you've got a very odd mix going around your head. But wow, did I love to hate him! And I was pleased to see a lot of "couldn't happen to a nicer guy" moments. But seriously... was I the only one who wanted to throw up when... no spoilers, watch it and see... 😰
I can't really place something in this film that I didn't like. It was funny, and heartfelt, and heartbreaking... with a smidge of musical thrown in... you'll be tapping your toes along in no time.

I fell in love with this series several years ago now with the first book in the series On Dublin Street where we met Joss and Braden and their amazing group of friends. I have read this series out of order, having read book 4, Fall from India Place, before this one but it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, although some storylines arc through all the books.
I was really enjoying this up until the 65-70% mark before it all went to hell. Yeah, they have to have something that tears them apart or it would be a boring book, but at the same time it annoys the heck out of me. Things were going so well.
I had tears silently pouring from my eyes for a good ten minutes as I read their falling out and the obvious pain they were both in but I really wanted to smack Nate in the face a few times.
Never the less, they worked things out in the end--obviously!--and end up another great couple in this amazing series. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Amazing, with Feelings...
353. The Peanut Butter Falcon. An amazing movie! We meet a guy named Zak, he has Down Syndrome, lives in a nursing, no family, has Bruce Dern as a roommate and he loves wrestling, so much so, that he plans to break free of his forced housing, go on the run to The Salt Water Redneck's Wrestling School, and with the help of some friends at the home... hint: Bruce Dern... he breaks free. While on the run, he hides on a boat that belongs to Tyler, a fisherman, hobo with a shotgun, and also on the run from a few locals, because Tyler may or may not have destroyed several thousand dollars worth of their equipment. ONce he discovers Zak crashing on his boat, hears his tale, Tyler decides to help him out with the journey. Zak of course has someone looking out for him as well, in this case the nursing home bypasses authorities and just sends a lone aide, Eleanor, out to find him. A touching tale of two guys on the run that form a friendship that feels more like family. Filmbufftim on FB
