fantastic insight, real analysis (0 more)
When you see these sort of books they usually just focus on the players and you never get the chance to hear about the inner workings of the club. This book goes deeper and as such opens up a completely different point of view. Not only are there interviews with the players Dietmar Hamann, Albert Riera, Michael Owen etc, but there are also chapters where we get the behind the scenes stories from both Gerard Houlier and Rick Parry. Its a fascinating read especially when you consider that in the six years Houlier was in charge we won 6 trophies. Am amazing achievement :)

On the Waterfront (1954)
On the Waterfront (1954)
1954 | Classics, Drama, Romance

"On the Waterfront, with Marlon Brando. Between the look, the feel, the casting… even the casting of the extras. Just to look back and get a sense of what America was like back then, and the details, it was just amazing. And again, it was another one of those movies where the leading man, the way they struck a balance between masculine and vulnerable. Humphrey Bogart did it in Casablanca; I think Marlon Brando did it in On the Waterfront, so that’s why they stick out as the best to me. They’re pretty incredible. You’re just like, you sit back and you say, “Damn, I wish I could do that!” [laughs]"

Hoop Dreams (1994)
Hoop Dreams (1994)
1994 | Documentary, Drama

"A documentary that doesn’t feel like a documentary. It feels like a movie, a movie that I get lost in every time I see it. What’s amazing is if you had scripted it the way it happened people wouldn’t buy it and wouldn’t believe it. But the fact it happened that way in real life, it was mesmerizing and those two boys they were real and you rooted for them and you felt for them and you went through every emotion with them. It was so beautifully done and changed the game in terms of documentaries in making them more commercial and giving them a bigger platform than they had prior."
