Erika (17789 KP) rated We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2018) in Movies

Well, let's just say I know why this wasn't released outside of NY and LA here in the USA. I actually debated buying the digital copy or renting it on Amazon. Thank god I didn't. When I saw that Netflix (US), had added it, I immediately planned on watching it today.
It was not good. There was no tension throughout the film, it was boring. The only thing this film did well was to show the madness.
The only thing that made this worth it was watching Sebastian Stan. Of course, he was a creepy d-bag, but he was nice to look at.
Skip the film, just read the book.

All right. I've had enough. I'm DNF'ing this book. It's been 14 days and I'm just over half way through, which is ridiculous for me, paperback or e-book. If I'm into a book I get them done within a week. If not, it drags, like this one.
When I got this off Amazon, the description sounded like something right up my street, and it was for about the first 100 pages or so...but now it's gone on a wild tangent and I've just lost interest. It's no longer grabbing me and I'm fed up of trying. Hence my DNF.
Not for me.

I adore this series and I think it can be divided into 60% for the amazing romance and emotion between Lon and Cady. I LOVE THEM TOGETHER!! And the other 40% has to be Jupe. He's such a great kid.
That last 10% of the book I think I was more or less in floods of tears but that ending alone has made me want to go and grab the last book in the series so I can find out what happens next. BUT it isn't available on Scribd yet! That just means I'll have to buy it off Amazon as soon as!
Need it ASAP!

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Wicked Kiss (Alexa O'Brien, Huntress, #2) in Books

It was definitely a bad idea leaving so long between book 1 and 2 of this series as I couldn't remember much of what happened. I must have enjoyed the first though or I wouldn't have had this on my Amazon wish-list.
As mentioned above, I couldn't remember much other than the final showdown with Raoul so Shaz and Arys were almost new to me in this. I still managed to enjoy it, despite not remembering how or why she got bonded to Arys, though Shaz was rather self explanatory with his being Alexa's mate.
I don't think I'll be reading anymore of the series.

Sequel to Wreck-it Ralph, in which Ralph and Venelope travel to the internet in search of a replacement part for a broken wheel in Venelope's Sugar Rush arcade race.
It's not a bad film: animation (as expected) is top notch, and it has the requisite life lesson thrown in for good measure, but for me this just seemed somewhat lacklustre compared to the earlier entry. I did enjoy all the various internet nods throughout, however (some way more obvious that others - Amazon, E-Bay, Google, etc) - and the scene with the Disney Princesses are amongst the contender for the best of the film, but all-in-all ...

Kate (355 KP) rated The Dresden Files in TV

This is probably considered old in visual effects as it was made in 2007, so yes some of the effects are poor but that doesn’t detract from the good series. It is very similar to Grimm but with out the monsters as the main character, instead it evolves around the story of a wizard and his cases. You might also recognise some of the actors as they then went on to act in other well known box sets such as Arrow, Warehouse 13. Recommended to everyone, go and watch it on Amazon. Looks like it was cancelled after the first series but please hope that they bring it back.
