Lots of suspense and twists that keep you gripped until those final pages.
Love the new characters and can't wait to see how they develop and evolve.

A creepy stalker tale for the modern era....
Well that was something; I’m all over the place with my feelings for this series from hating it to loving it; a bit like my feelings for its lead character and narrator Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley.)
Joe is straight off the bat creepy stalker guy when he becomes obsessed with Guinevere “Beck” (Elizabeth Lail) off the back of meeting her in his bookshop - as if Amazon isn’t doing enough on its own to kill independent bookshops…. Convinced they should be together to pretty much save Beck from herself, Joe goes to ever increasing lengths to get to know everything about her and start manipulating her to become part of his life. It offers up a strong commentary on the power social media as well as the back stabbing competitive world of literature and socialites in New York
The narrative from Joe is hypnotic in him justifying his actions and Badgley’s voice is a perfect mixture of good wholesome guy with undertones that just make you shiver. As the series progressed, I got less and less creeped out by Joe and more frustrated with the other characters (oh my maybe Joe is brainwashing me.) With an almost Dexter feel to cheering on Joe at times I had to keep reminding myself that his moral compass was way off in comparison, just because someone is a self obsessed a****** doesn't mean they deserve to die.
The series started off very strongly but did drop off midway and I worry if the second season can bring back the initial engagement, I’ll certainly be tuning in to find out.

I have never been too interested in historical accounts of disasters, natural or man-made. I got this book free from Amazon for Kindle and I genuinely could not put it down from start to finish. It is a really harrowing modern account of one of the worst man-made disasters in world history and it takes you though the entire history and backstory of nuclear power and the Chernobyl disaster, including what became of everyone involved at the time, the global political backlash and comparisons with much more recent nuclear accidents such as Fukushima.
In between chapters, the narrator simultaneously includes his own first-person account of his visit to Chernobyl and the neighbouring ghost town of Pripyat, some 32 years after the fallout which killed, injured and displaced so many people in the Ukraine.
Included in the text are photographs of the sarcophagus, the ghost town of Pripyat and documentation from the official enquiry (in translation from the original Cyrillic text). One of the most enthralling chapters is a very stomach-churning, matter-of-fact detail of what actually happens to a human body when affected by radiation poisoning. This chapter is seriously not for the faint-hearted!!
Leatherbarrow has done an absolutely fantastic job here, over 5 years of research to build an account of something I have heard of all my life but no writing has quite enthralled me like this book did. The juxtaposition of the historical and the modern help to transform this text from the dryly historical account that it could have been into a thoroughly readable and dare I say unputdownable account of one the the worlds biggest nuclear disasters.

Once again, this is a book that has been on my wish list on Amazon for several years. 2017, I think, when I read an anthology containing books 1-3 and really enjoyed them.
This one starts with Sam preparing for Wyatt's birthday. She's got him a special gift - his sister that was stolen at birth and switched with a changeling. Wyatt is over the moon at having his real sister back and is determined to help her get used to life in the human world.
On another note, Sam is now the Iblis and has to write reports for every human she kills - both accidentally and on purpose - and go before the board of Angels to explain herself. One of these times is after she is attacked by an angel, a mage and two human thugs working together. Yet no one believes her claims.
On yet another note is that someone or something is killing demons and devouring their souls, leaving behind their husk all over the Americas and Sam is the prime suspect. Gregory eventually believes her and tries to clear her name.
I've been wanting something to happen between Sam and Gregory for a while in this series, so I was very happy indeed when things progressed in this one.
I'm not going to go into any more detail but that ending has me wanting to read the next one. I need to know what happens next with Sam and co.
