Chris Evans is fantastic as Captain America. He is humble, polite and unused to stardom. I love how they make him look so small and weedy at the start of the movie. (0 more)

Great introduction to marvel
Captain America is such a great character. He cares about other people and always does the right thing.
This movie introduces us to characters we get to know very well in the marvel movies, such as Howard Stark, Bucky, Peggy and Nick Fury.
It's a movie you can watch over and over and still enjoy.

"I discovered Christopher Isherwood in college. His writing style is so direct, warm, and inclusive. There's one passage in this book, published in 1964, that has really stayed with me — the description of America. The narrator is a British man teaching at a California college. He and a few colleagues are having a conversation, and an American woman is saying how romantic Mexico is. She's critical of America. The protagonist argues with her, talking about the virtues of the United States. He says that its beauty is in its abstraction. I thought that was an amazing insight — possibly true and compelling at least."

I don't overly enjoy poetry for the most part, but I have to say, I really enjoy Allen Ginsberg's writing.

I had previously read "Howl" and "A Supermarket in California" which I very much enjoyed. The other poems, being new to me, I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ginsberg has a very interesting writing style that is very vivid. I love how he speaks directly to his fellow poets in some of his poems. In writing them in, he is giving them an even greater form of immortality.

I enjoyed the poem "America." It's asking the citizens of America what the war is worth, but America is also asking things of him that he wouldn't be able to live up to. He questions his own writing in this as well.

Ginsberg has a very musical beat to his poems that makes you have to keep reading. It pulls you along, especially when you read it out loud.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this little book of poems.

Brilliant
Love this introduction of Captain America, feel it really highlights the characters main attributes which provides the grounding for future films. Bucky and Peggy's characters are great.

I like the bad guy and find he is a worthy adversary.

"The man who wrote many Marx Brothers movies was the greatest wordsmith America has ever produced. This collection brings together his comic essays, most of which originally appeared in The New Yorker. You have to read him with a dictionary, but it’s worth it."

Franzen has a good deal of talent in how he develops his characters, but I'm not sure if this book lived up to all the hype. You can read my review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/08/30/what-is-a-portrait-of-america/

Flagg's latest novel is a portrait of rural America written with charm and wit (as usual), that's both poignant and uplifting. Find out why I'm giving it five stars in my review here. <br/>https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2016/11/09/an-elmwood-springs-retrospective/
