Amish reads

A unique look into the life of the Amish.
The lifestyle and simplicity of the Amish has gained vast popularity in recent years and so many books are being written about it. Its getting kinda repetitive. This one is a very unique look at the trouble the Amish face when they are given the choice of becoming english or marrying and staying in the Amish Faith. This is the first Amish book I have read that the author does not completely agree with all the rules and orders of the Amish. It caused me to really think about the Amish faith and if I personally agreed with the way the Amish faith is portrayed.
I would highly recommend this book if for no other reason than that the author really makes you think.
I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback, the opinions expressed within are my own.

This is mostly about how it was dealing with how the Amish came to America. It really tells the story of what happens on a ocean crossing. To extent that it gives what it like when Amish and other were traveling to the New World for their freedom.

You do not go into it expecting what is to happen. It seem more historical then Amish. Though is mostly about Amish and how they come to America. Susanne tell a story about Anna and though she is with while crossing the ocean. She seem interested in the carpenter on the Charming Nancy? Who could that be?

When the Morning Comes is about a young girl in her Amish community. I can't remember the details of the story. I will give you what i can remember about it. I know it about Hannah Lapp. Does get what she wants or does she not.

She stays with her aunt for bit and ponders about going to live the englisher. It the Amish term for outsiders. Will she goes back with her fiance and her family she left behind. Doe her fiance love her or not? You would need to read the book to find out. I know it a sweet story.

You learn about how the Amish live and her why of life. I am fascinated by it myself, so that is why I enjoy reading book about the Amish and Amish fiction. Cindy Woodsmall does wonders for her books. She also does a good job with this one as well. It just been years since i read the book that I honestly can't remember much.

I received this copy of Toxic Toffee from Kensington through Netgalley.

I loved it this book. The Amish we're dealt with very well, I felt. I loved Bailey's uncertainty regarding her relationship. And Puff the bunny!
There is an 8 foot rabbit involved, which causes some unexpected tension. The mystery (Who killed a guy who looked like an Amish Santa Claus?) was very interesting if not tragic.

Everyone, English and Amish alike, are talking about toy maker Rob Karble being in town to make a deal to distribute toys made by the local Amish. However, not too long after word leaks he intends to use his factory instead of the local Amish, he is found murdered. Once again, Claire Weatherly finds herself getting involved to clear her new Amish friends.

I still can’t get over how strong the characters in this series are. They pull you in and make you care about every page. The plot is good, and kept me guessing until the end. I did find the romantic triangle a bit too prominent, and yet with the way it ended, I can’t wait to find out what happens next there as well. The strong characters are to blame for that contradiction.

This was something wonderful. I teach us about friendship and forgiving. It also about finding a missing child. It show what the Amish do for each person or children even neighbor's children. It show the difference in English world and their world. I just love the story and plot behind it. This is the third in this series. I still need to read book number 2. I recommend this book those that love Amish or Beverley Lewis.

Kate Burkholder is the chief of police for the small town of Painter's Mill in Ohio. When a young Amish man is found burned to death in his family's barn, Kate is determined to find out who is responsible. Being ex-Amish herself, Kate has a strong connection to the people. But trying out to find out who would have wanted Daniel Gingerich dead is turning into quite a list. You see, Daniel wasn't the good Amish boy every portrayed him to be. He had a dirty secret and once Chief Burkholder is able to uncover his secrets, she may be able to find his killer.

Thank you to Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

When I first heard about this book, I was quite intrigued by the story line. I didn't know that this was a part of a series, so that was a little disappointing, but I don't feel like I missed out on too much. I definitely want to go back and read the rest of the series.

Daniel Gingerich is in the period of an Amish person's life called Rumspringa. This is a time once Amish reach adulthood that they take the time to "find themselves". Daniel had a serious girlfriend and had plans to marry her. But he was a young man and attractive. He could have almost any girl he wanted. So why was he killed and who did it? When Kate finds out Daniel's secret, the suspect pool grows bigger and bigger the more she digs into this young man's life. The Amish community is so tight knit that no one wants to tell anyone's secrets.

This book was very hard to put down, and there were surprises I didn't see coming. I look forward to reading more books by Linda Castillo.
