This is a good, comprehensive book about the Ancient World. The book connected all of the ancient cultures, and I like the combination between life in general, then the focus on some individuals.

This author pulled me into ancient Hawaii with the vivid world building and lovely characters. Full of sibling rivalry, action and adventure makes this a well rounded read that readers of all ages will love.

Another Cosmere world, another unusual magic system. I think this was about the right length for an interesting foray into Eastern culture and mysticalising (not a word) ancient artworks and skills.
A really enjoyable short read, though I don't see it contributing more to the Cosmere as a whole.

I really enjoyed this book and am compelled to read some of the other author's works. Morgan Llywelyn brings the ancient world to life with descriptions of their daily lives and homes, but also delving into their religious and spiritual beliefs, which helps bring their lost cultures to life.

The Kid Who Would Be King (2019) pulls contemporary adventure from the stone of legend.
Opening with exactly the same set-up and opening thematic point as “Justice League”, Joe Cornish takes the idea of a country and a world which has lost hope and, with a keen eye for contemporary resonance, weaves a wonderfully affirmative and inspirational tale from the ancient cloth of legend and the modern social fabric of present-day England...

Vivid characters
A fantasy world with a mix of its own mythology and steampunk science.
Beautifully written. Poignant, flawed but full of hope and wonder.
I really enjoyed this book. Its different but beautifully written. The characters are flawed but they all have a part to play that makes you want to keep reading. The author created an interesting world of mythology, ancient wondrous, unreachable lost cities. Magic and science co exist in a steampunk like culture, but also highlights the social and personal struggles of the people who live in it. Apathy, addiction, corruption, revolution and hope. Some people say it's slow, just keep reading, its worth it.
