Sarah (7798 KP) rated Black Mirror - Season 5 in TV

Whilst each episode has it’s own take on modern society and technology (VR, social media and musical pop culture), none of this felt particularly new or unique. Don’t get me wrong, the episodes aren’t bad at all. But they’re just not brilliant. There are good performances (Andrew Scott especially) and the storylines are vaguely interesting, they just don’t get pushed far enough into the dark and bleak Black Mirror world we’re used to. Not only that, but none of these stories have particularly bad endings. It all just feels a little bit meh and after the rather wonderful Bandersnatch, I’d been looking forward to another great season. Sadly, it’s been a bit of a letdown. I’m really hoping that this is just a blip and that the next series is back on form, and not a sign that Black Mirror has run out of decent ideas...

Its not the worst killer animal film I've ever seen. There are a few tense moments, a good cast, and the choice to not show the crocodile too often is probably a good one, considering it looks dodgy as fuck when the films climax arrives, but it's a little too drawn out for my taste, and the tension isn't good enough to stop the overall film from dragging hard, and ends up being a mediocre watch at best.

While Lady Gaga's performance was amazing, Bradley Cooper's performance was a level above, and the fact that he directed as well just adds to that for me. The supporting cast was wonderful - notably Andrew Dice Clay as Ally's father, and Dave Chappelle as Jack's childhood friend.
The music was great, and I've already downloaded the soundtrack for the express purpose of listening to "Black Eyes" on repeat.
I went through all the emotions while watching this movie, and I'd definitely watch it again. It didn't feel too long, which is the case with so many movies these days, and the pace was steady but not slow.
Plus, as I overheard from one moviegoer: "I've never seen Bradley Cooper so hot." Amen, sister.
