Great on All Devices
I love the Kindle App. I have it on my iMac, Macbook, Chromebook and Android phone, as well as using the native Kindle reader on the Amazon Fire tablet.

I love how, no matter what device I have with me, I can always read whatever book I currently have on the go, provided I either have an internet connection or I've already downloaded the book (I'm rarely without a connection - and if I know I'm going to be, then I'll make sure the book is downloaded before I go out!).

I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription - having the Kindle app installed on all my devices means I can really make the most of the subscription, reading a few pages of a book here, or a quick glance through a magazine there. It's definitely one of the first apps I install whenever I change or upgrade any of my devices.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I learned the hard way that cyborg/android stories tend to either be good, or absolutely horrible. There seems to be no in between. Therefore, I am hesitant to read them. However, Mated with the Cyborg seemed interested and held promise. I was not disappointed.

While not a new plot, Mated with the Cyborg has a cast of appealing characters set inside an equally interesting world. Bristol creates a story balanced between action and romance. There is no lack of plot, but there was just as much heat. If you want some steam with your cyborg hero, this is definitely the story for you.

I was pleasantly surprised. This is the first story I have ever read from Bristol but it won’t be the last. It isn’t necessary to read the first in the series to enjoy this novel, I definitely want to pick it up after enjoying Mated so much.

Excellent way to enjoy books!
I've been using the Audible app for a little over 5 years now and I absolutely love it. It's equally easy to use on iPad and Android devices. The quality of the audiobooks available can't be beat, and the interface is incredibly easy to use. I would absolutely recommend the app to anyone who enjoys listening to audio books.

The one major downside of Audible is the subscription / credit system used to purchase the books. Books can be purchased outright or purchased through a monthly subscription system. I personally use the subscription that gives me 1 credit per month for $14/month. It can be expensive, but it's worth it if you enjoy listening to books while in the car or on the go. It's also a great way to multi-task. I love listening to books while I work on projects that keep my hands busy.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Star Trek: Picard in TV

Apr 27, 2020
Star Trek: Picard
Star Trek: Picard
2019 | Drama, Sci-Fi
The latest big-budget generic sci-fi series to have the Star Trek brand on it in an attempt to secure an audience. Ex-Admiral Picard meets the hot young daughter of his dead android mate and goes off to help save her twin sister with a bunch of young actors who are cheaper to employ than the ones playing his actual friends.

Not quite as mad as Discovery, and seeing the old characters again (mostly in cameos) is undeniably affecting for those of us who were there thirty years ago. But the plotting is laborious and lazy, and we seem to have lost the idea that the whole point of Star Trek is that things will improve and be different in the future: regardless of the odd ways in which this setting doesn't really match canon, this lot just act like 21st century folks in fancy dress. I'm not even going to get started on the F-bombing Starfleet Admiral or the Irish and Australian Romulans.

If you live in America post-2016 (#notmypresident), there is a more fair amount of hate, deceit, and a lack of caring. It's a culture driven by "What's in it for me?" and "What can I buy next?". Cellphones, whether Android or iOs, are like augmentation of our hand, taking all our focus, leaving us mentally glued to them. a book like this couldn't have come out at a better time!

Sure, I am biased, as I have a great love/appreciation of sloths. Beyond the sloth aspect, the book has a great amount of Life Advice that everyone should heed. One of the recommendations of McCartney on how to "live the sloth life" is recommending putting down our cellphones, stopping with the need for "selfies", and just get out there and enjoy Life for all that it is. Best.advice.EVER!

Now, enough with the review already, just get out there and read it! Your Life will so much better!
