Banned Coming of Age Story
I love being a rebel and reading books that have been banned before. This book showed a lesbian relationship in a positive light which is what earned it the ban.

Nancy Garden did a magnificent job of capturing the angst of first love. This in itself can be hard but add to the mix it being love that is scorned by society and you have a new level of coming of age story. This book was originally published in 1992 which can be picked up from some of the descriptions, none the less, the basis of the story is still relevant today. This story will make you cheer, cry, and want to hit someone with anger. It is a fantastic book.

Hotholes for the win! I absolutely loved every second of Baron “Vicious” Spencer and Emilia “Millie” Le Blanc’s story. From the start, Shen creates the angst beautifully. I didn’t like the way Vicious was with Millie in the beginning but I knew he needed to be that way for the readers to get the fully effect of his torture, his pain, his anger. I loved how Millie was with him. The slow burn between them in the beginning was amazing and enough to set my heart on fire. When Vicious realizes his feelings…..well, let’s just say I’ve never been so jealous of a character before as I was of Millie! This book is definitely worthy of all the stars! Vicious is MINE!

"If somebody asked me at the time of this release 'What's it's like on the streets of New York?' I would just put on this Mobb Deep album and tell them to listen to it in its entirety. This album is Queens and it's representative of a whole part of New York City. There's a lot of anger in here – parts of it make you want to punch somebody in the face – but there's also a lot of classic club bangers in there too that just rock. It's a record of opposites and they were really a band all about opposites and differences. They were probably one of the last really different bands of that era who were just great. They always played such banging music."

<strong>Hmm. </strong>

This didn't grab me like several other books by the author have done.

It was all looking like Seth WAS the killer, which I know was the whole point, but he did come across as being a bit too quick to anger and rather crazy. It made him a bit hard for me to like.

That being said Ellie drove me mad on several occasions too. She was just so anti-anything-involving-a-guy and was rather hurtful to Seth at times and I couldn't understand his fascination with her.

I am making a point to read my way through this authors books and the fact this one didn't gel with me hasn't changed my mind about that.
