Beautifully written and full of girl power.
You are mighty. You are one, and one, and one.
You are fragile. You can move mountains.
You are breakable. You will never break.
This power is mine. And now it is yours, too.

I love a good feminist fantasy novel.
This did not disappoint.
The horror aspect is there but it feels like a background to the character development of the 3 main female characters.
There's Zoey who is angry and it's good that she's angry, we'll celebrate her anger and fume along with her.
There's Val who is a victim of a controlling abusive force (or two) and always has been and we will grow and rebel and learn to love with her.
Then there's Marion who's always been the carer always carrying over peoples troubles on her shoulders, always the one to fix things and we will learn to let go with her, learn to be selfish if just for a few quiet moments in a stable with horses and a girl who needs to be loved.
The Asexual rep is excellent, the story is brilliant but it's secondary to these girls who through each chapter we fall a bit deeper in love with even when we think they're unforgivable Claire Legrand shows us how not everything is black and white.
Expect the tears to flow in those last few pages and your heart to leap with joy but always remember beware of the woods and the dark, dank deep.

Love story
Nyx is honestly my favorite female book character. She has such a realism to her that I want to wrap around me. She isn't this hero who is going to her death great full for a chance to save her world, she is angry and full of poison and it's so refreshing. She isn't a perfect martyr. Not to mention the book takes its time and the time frame isn't a few days and Boom! She's in love. She has the opportunity to learn something about her husband and he has the opportunity to show he loves her for who she is. I reread the book constantly and I highly recommend it as a love story.

"Curiouser and curiouser!”
Alice in wonderland is one of those pieces of media that even if you've never read the book or heck even seen the movie you know it... It's just that legendary.

The book is one of those pieces that no matter your age you can enjoy it. As a kid it's this magical wonderland of talking animals, weird people, and a very angry queen.. And you wish you could stumble down a rabbit hole it fall through a looking glass to get to because it all just seems to wonderful. As an adult it's really no different. The book is just fun and memorable and honestly the story has stuck with me my whole life and will always stay close to my heart.

Excellent pacing to the next Cullen adventure. A body is discovered in the hidden streets underneath Edinburgh's old town and the ensuing investigation leads them to investigate members of the Scottish music scene and venture North to Cullen's hometown of Dalhousie (loosely based on my own hometown of Carnoustie), and West to Glasgow.
The story also continues the ups and downs of Cullen's relationship with Sharon McNeill and his career aspirations, building on the previous books in the series.
This is quite a short and very pacey book that is a genuine page-turner (as the chapters are quite short it's always "one more chapter", until the cleaner gets angry at me spending too long on the toilet at work).

The final book. If you have read my other reviews of this series I have suggested that you read the gold unicorn first and then the black unicorn, because that was what I did. However this one you need to save for last. Tanaquil broken hearted has to heal and of course isn’t getting that from her mom (thanks Warabex said with dripping sarcasm). And even though she is angry throughout The series Tanaquil wasn’t bitter. This amazing book about Tanaquil’s continuing journey of self discovery is the perfect ending. Peeve gets more self aware and how can you not love this little pet peeve! It is a journey that is needed no matter how much your perspective changes with a message that you should never forget.

"HULK ... SMASH!"

A collection of the original sIncredible Hulk tories (or those in which he appeared), I was actually surprised on reading these just how 'smart' (relatively speaking) the Hulk actually was - not at all like the "Rrrr...Arrrgh" engine of destruction I was expecting, but able to hold full conversations with those he was interacting with.

I was also surprised that - initially, at least - the transformation process did not happen when Bruce Banner got angry, but rather at night times, or when he voluntarily underwent it by stepping in front of his hidden Gamma Ray machine (after initially being caught in a Gamma Ray explosion that started the whole process going): very much a modern Jekyll and Hyde scenario, as it were!
