TravelersWife4Life (31 KP) rated RES-Q Tyler Stop (Tyler Stop, #1) in Books

I think this book was great !
The main characters are sweet, they have to deal with real life problems (which would be good conversation starters) and they have hearts to save all different types of animals! I would definitely recommend reading it for middle school grade kids because of the length.
I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feed back from Just Read Tours. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

I Mayored A Town, So I Can Manage A Campsite!
12/26/17
So, I've played for a whole month. The updates were nice and errors were fixed, but I have to say I'll have to knock down some because I became bored with the app.
11/22/17
I've played the game for a few hours on and off now.
When I first downloaded the app previous night there were no issues with the error other than a little lag here and there. This morning the error has been popping up left and right. It took a few tries to be able to get connected through, but it was slow going and it would pop up often. Hopefully an issue that will be fixed soon and I can revise my review.
Overall I do love the app. The basics are there from the previous games. You build up your friendship with villagers (or animals as they call it in the app though I think the use of campers was missed) by doing requests and you'll get things in exchange. The better the level of friendship the more things you gain and unlock. By forming friendships with the animals your level is raised, which is how other things are unlocked and other animals.
Each animal and item has a certain type (natural, cute, hip, sporty, and cool). This helps you figure out what will attract certain animals to visit so you can than craft or purchase the furniture at the Market.
I do like the Market and how you can buy items from people in their own boxes if you do not have the item you need yourself. The Market is also where you can get help from Isabelle or purchase clothes.
All in all, so far it feels like Pocket Camp is a condensed form of the system games and that doesn't make it a bad thing. They've done well with turning Animal Crossing into an app. I cannot wait to play more and discuss it more.

Criminally Fun Animal Inspired Short Stories
This latest collection of short stories from the members of Sisters in Crime Chesapeake Chapter features 13 tales, or is it tails, involving animals. Yes, there are lots of dogs and cats featured, including a murdered crazy cat lady, a story about a dog getting into trouble with his human, and a movie stars famous dog. But we get some unusual animals, too, including an octopus and exploding cows.
As with any collection, there were a couple of stories that weren’t to my taste. But I would then find I loved the next one. And when each story takes less than 30 minutes to read, you aren’t committed to something you don’t like for very long. For short stories, the characters were well drawn, and each story featured at least one twist with longer ones features a few more surprises. While a couple stories trend a little darker, there are some light, very fun stories in the collection as well. Truly, there is something here everyone will enjoy.

Lindsay (1786 KP) rated Terry Treetop Saves The Dolphin in Books
Feb 15, 2018 (Updated Apr 9, 2019)
Do your children like have adventures? This book has an adventure in it. It about a dolphin that needs help. Children will learn about animals and their habits. We meet a marine worker at the national reserve.
The children learn about animal care and what do if there a problem. Will Terry be able to help the little dolphin that something is wrong. I also enjoy the pictures in the book. They tell the story if your child it young to read it himself or herself. Parents can read this book to their child as well. It easy to read for children that are beginning to read books or learning to read books.
This is sweet and quick adventure book. It a wonderful book for though that love animals. They can learn about environment and animal habit at the same time. The author does a wonderful job with the story and it meaning. I recommend these books for young readers or beginner readers and parents with young children.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Lion King (2019) in Movies
Jul 19, 2019 (Updated Jul 19, 2019)
Same story with different visuals
Yet another re-imaging update of a Disney classic. People will always have quite varied reactions to these films depending in how high regard they hold the original. So far they have been a bit hit and miss, with Dumbo the worst for me. This is more in line with the Jungle book, with the same director. The story is pretty much exactly the same as the original. The difference is the amazing life like animation of the animals. So good it will feel like a nature documentary at times, waiting for David Attenborough to narrate over.
The voice cast is OK with only James Earl Jones voice standing out as he has such a commanding tone. The songs were just ok for me and I think this is where most people might be disappointed with this version. Overall it's a good story still given a technically excellent make-over. Just maybe lacking a little charm here and there.
