Awwwww! <b>"...and lived happily ever after."</b>

I loved it...when they finally got their shit together and just admitted their feelings, though it took 620 pages!

I laughed, I cried, I ranted, I got driven up the wall several times...

It only took eleven books but they finally, finally, got together and in the end it was so sweet.

As for the other points of the story: What's going to happen with the baby? What about Xcor and his Band of Bastards? What happened to Marisol/Sola? What about Trez and Selena?

I need answers!

4.5 stars.

It would have been 5 if not for that proper cliffhanger ending.

It was all sweetness and light and rainbows and butterfies for me throughout, though it drove me mad a few times with how oblivious they both were to each others feelings, but that end bit! So dark and cliffhanger-y. I even had to carry on into the sneak peek for the next book just to try and get some answers but nope, cut off before we find out if everyone is okay. Bloody hell!

Now i really need to read book 2 to see what happens next.

"It was hard to pick just one Bergman film—so many brilliant choices. I suppose I picked Winter Light because it is so perfectly bleak, the very essence of the frozen grayness of winter. This is one of Bergman’s famous “God’s silence” films. The dilemma of Pastor Ericsson’s trying to find meaning in a godless universe (or at least a universe where God will not answer) is hard to watch without personally taking on his existential dread. Bergman never blinks. He doesn’t hand us any easy answers or life-affirming reassurances. It’s grim. A great work of art."

The entire idea of what David has written about is very intruiging, I was riddled with questions and predictions, most of which went unanswered. While I remained interested in the topic, the story itself was, for me, slow and lacking. There were moments when my interest was re-piqued, but most of the time I waited and waited for something more. I finished the book because I wanted to know the answers to my questions, unaware there was a second installment in the series. I might possibly continue with this story, but sometime in the much later future.
