Dianne Robbins (1738 KP) created a post in Movie Fun and Trivia

Alright, old folks like me. What was the name of the movie and the character who played a heroic Native American ex-Army Green Beret who used his karate skills to fight racism and oppression? You could not turn on the tv in the 70s and 80s without seeing this playing on the late night movie.

"I wasn’t sure if they were an army, a gang, or a specialized task force of geological engineers. Whatever they were, when this came out, I wanted to enlist. There was something so satisfying about their regimented chaos. I’d love to see some of these new-school rock bands step up to this level of concept."

"Quick cheat again. I could easily have listed Le cercle rouge, Army of Shadows, Le doulos and Le deuxieme souffle, which are all in the Criterion collection. Melville is probably my favorite director and was a huge influence on the script of Drive. The cinema of process and silent taciturn heroes whose tough-guy exteriors hide lonely, fragile hearts."

Rolling Stone's 390th greatest album of all time (449th in the 2020 list)
Great album by the White Stripes, featuring the anthemic Seven Nation Army (used as many football / leftist politician chants), and the excellent Hardest Button to Button and Girl You Have No Faith In Medicine. The rest of the album is pretty decent too.
