Music was full of fury, confusion and resistance in our first post-election year. Albums came with titles like American Dream (LCD Soundsystem), American Teen (Khalid) and All American Made (Margo Price).

But music in 2017 was also about a more slippery sense of self, as genre lines fall away and artists searched for identity and purpose in weird times.

So here's the best of a tumultuous year:

Taylor Swift clapped back, Kendrick Lamar went back to basics, Lorde threw a high-concept party and more:

A fun and whimsical collection of short stories featuring each of the Doctors and set at Christmas time. Of course, some of the stories by the various artists are better than others, but there was only one that I felt was not up to the same quality as the others (the second Doctor story) and yet it was still enjoyable. A great, read for the holidays. Full review coming at www.travelingthevortex.com

It's a bit like Dirty rotten scoundrels but this time it's the women who are the con artists. It's funny in places and has a tad more of an adult theme to it than DRS. A bit long at around 2 hours but at least that means the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt is on the screen a bit longer. Overall quite light hearted and predictable but not too bad.

Really enjoy having Spotify. I have the family package so I'm able to have more than one person using the account but we all have the ability to like our own music on our own linked email. Especially like how you can download music so if you go out of signal you can still play your favourite songs.
