A pretty good straight to DVD action film. Some good fight scenes and stunt work. An assassin passes up a hit on a female singer and gets drawn in to protect her from the next taker. Feels like quite a few other films put together most notably Bangkok Dangerous and the Replacement killers.

A Fun and Exciting Movie
When you think of American action movies you think over the top, hardcore action, lots off explosions and lots of blood. When you think of an Assassin movie you think stealthy, silent killing and people working alone.
But in American Assassin you get a crazy mix of both and it almost works. This is a movie about a guy that loses his girl to terrorists and spends his time being a solo assassin trying to single handedly take down terrorist cells. Which makes sense because who doesn't like a good revenge story. But then he gets picked up by the CIA to train him how to be a better killer. I thought maybe they would be teaching him how to be a spy and an assassin and go on missions alone like any other movie. Like Bourne or The Recruit. But this movie takes it a different way. They train as a team and go on missions as a team. Which is fine, I don't have a problem with that, but it really doesn't make it seem like they are training him to be an assassin which the title of the movie suggests.
The action in this movie does keep you on the edge of your set, which is always a good thing. And the time spent when they aren't running or driving around killing people is also good. There is a lot of story to this movie which keeps things interesting all while keeping the twists to a minimum.
I say for an action movie it was good, not great. I walked into the movie looking for people to be assassinated or trained to assassinate people, but walked out a little disappointed. If you like action see it, I don't know if it is theater worthy, but rent it when it comes out.

I am going to be completely honest when I started Throne of Glass, I was a little bored. The beginning of the book had a slow start and I had trouble getting started with the book. Boy am I glad that I stuck with it!! The story revolves around 3 Main Characters to Start Celaena Sardothien, Prince Dorian Havilliard, and Captain Chaol Westfall.
***** SPOILERS BELOW!! ******
Dorian starts by getting Celaena out of Prison, Where she was placed for being an Assassin by Dorian's father. Dorian enlists Celaena to become his assassin in a competition given by his father. She must beat all other contestants and then serve as the King's Assassin for 5 years to gain her freedom. The book has intrigue, action, little bit of love, and it keeps you hooked to the page.
Once the story gets going you will not be able to put the book down. I'll let you know to buy all of the series at once if you can because You will immediately want to pick up the next book in the series once you are done the first.

Sucker Punch's open-world game, set during the 13th century Mongol invasion of Japan, and in which the player takes on the role of the samurai Jin Sakai, who must go against the way of his ancestors and his training to stop said invasion.
Think Assassin's Creed (though you're not an assassin. Not that the later entries in that series had you as being one anyway ...), but without the whole Animus concept, or the underpinning Assassin/Templar conflict or the modern day elements.
It's also quite immersive with the Guiding Wind concept leading you to whatever location you had set, instead of cluttering up the screen with a HUD, and the story itself is well told.
Now to try out the Iki Island expansion ...

AT (1676 KP) rated Assassination Classroom Vol. 3 in Books

In book 3 of Assassination Classroom, there are multiple attempts to take out the monster teacher. The female assassin is still there, trying to kill and teach. We are introduced to get another character, this time being an A.I. unit that tries its hand at assassination. There is also some time spent on a lesson about getting revenge.

This is a pretty good action film featuring an assassin who seems to be playing off the Triads and Yukuza against each other. There is plenty of action, car chase, shootouts, sword fights and quite brutal too. Maybe some of the fight scenes could have been a bit better or more of them but overall this is a quality film worth checking out.
