This is one of the most fun reads I've ever had.
I kinda love this book, and the Audio Book is read by Wil Wheaton which is kinda perfect. I even love the dystopian future aspect, where everyone spends all the time online, plugged in to the Oasis. And here within it in a big mystery, with shades of willy wonka. Here is this everyday geek, who through hard work, determination and cunning deciphering of the codes and clues makes a run at the greatest prize of his time. Once agai on fo the most fun books I've ever read, and I really hope the movie coming out soon lives up to the feel, I already know it won't have everything as no movie is ever a complete version, but I feel that steven spielberg at least has the chops to take it on and do it justice. I hope I'm not wrong.

I love, love this book! I wish there were slightly fewer inappropriate moments because I know my students would enjoy it.

Agreed Lumos! My 4th graders would love to hear this. Maybe I can find a way to skip some of it without taking away from the story...?

Kubrick and Clarke's proverbial good SF movie encompasses the entire history of the human race in 142 minutes (it takes the Fifty Shades trilogy 343 minutes to say considerably less about slightly more trivial matters). Much of the plot is left for the viewer to infer: where do we come from? Where are we going? What is our essential nature? What does it all mean? Probably appears to concern uplift of human race from primitive apes to transcendent star-beings by extraterrestrial forces, with the odd problem along the way.

Not the warmest or paciest of films, but still fabulous to look at and displaying a consummate mastery of image and sound. Probably says something about the film that the only performance most people can remember is that of Hal the computer. Not so much a film with a story as a series of unforgettable linked audio-visual experiences; one of those movies that everyone should see at least once, preferably on the big screen.

Excellent way to enjoy books!
I've been using the Audible app for a little over 5 years now and I absolutely love it. It's equally easy to use on iPad and Android devices. The quality of the audiobooks available can't be beat, and the interface is incredibly easy to use. I would absolutely recommend the app to anyone who enjoys listening to audio books.

The one major downside of Audible is the subscription / credit system used to purchase the books. Books can be purchased outright or purchased through a monthly subscription system. I personally use the subscription that gives me 1 credit per month for $14/month. It can be expensive, but it's worth it if you enjoy listening to books while in the car or on the go. It's also a great way to multi-task. I love listening to books while I work on projects that keep my hands busy.

Who couldn't rate this 5 if they read all the others and rated any one of them 5 - I mean, it had every single character from the past in it. I must say though even though Scarlet was my favourite - Winter is my new one - and them together was just amazing - their interaction was just life.

The whole book was action non stop - I love books like that - there were a few down times but not many, and I just .. I'm sad, I'll get novellas but, it's over, and I really would like more Winter - I listened in audio and her sing song voice and her wolf howl was just so super awesome I just cant even deal I would fangirl the voice of these books so hard.

Perhaps theres fanfic for lunar chronicles .....perhaps I should go lurk because, for my first series finish I'm proud of myself that it's this series.

Incredible.
I personally love The Greatest Showman. Both the Audio tracks and the film itself. I feel the story flows well, though I did have to watch it twice to be able to fully understand every detail. But again for me that’s adds to it being a great film, as you can’t just watch it once. It catches you in a somewhat emotional manner, especially if you as a viewer, feel even remotely like an outcast. And if in that case, it becomes an emotional and strongly empowering piece. Hugh Jackman plays The Greatest Showman extremely well, which helps the entire film come together. He brings a warmth and maturity to the film that I doubt many other actors could. In Conclusion.. An absolutely incredible film with perfectly chosen actors/actresses and songs/singers.

Audio Production is great
I struggled to care about these over privileged people as a whole. The main character especially. I made it through the first half of the book, which is 21 cds, and a ton of time. I felt like i invested a lot of my time into it, and didn't feel rewarded with a great classic piece of literature. That said it was well written for it's time and really provides insight into the thought and minds of the confederate side. It's a great slice of life for Civil war buffs. A lot of the racial language is cringe worthy by today's standards, but was probably very real for the time and even maybe lighter. I do not feel compelled to read the rest of it, one day when I am curious, I will watch the movie and that will probably be enough.

The X Files was a big part of my teenage years.

And, frankly, I don't remember it being this explicit about the alien conspiracies, cover-ups, etc, etc …

More of a radio show than an audio book, this has David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning to their signature roles as Mulder and Scully respectively, alongside several other characters who 'died' in the series proper. It's also very 'episodic' - so was the TV show, alongside the larger occasional mythology episodes - although there is a narrative through-line throughout it all.

To be honest, I also found myself fast forwarding (or listening at sped-up speed) to large parts of it: I'm not sure whether it was the content, or because this misses a key component of the TV series (The visuals, and the lighting), but to me this was only OK: nothing in it that would make me want to rush out and purchase the sequel. A pity.
