I give this book 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4. I was lucky enough to be given a copy of this book by Readers First in return for an honest review.

It was a slow burn, but definitely one that I wanted to keep reading. We travel through this book with Natasha, a teenager who has the gift of foresight, but always sees when something bad happens. Living with her mother, her father having left them when she was young, who she craves love from but always seems embarrassed about her daughter’s gift.

One night Natasha sees lights coming from the trees on a ridge and feels that something bad is going to happen and tries to warn her little town. People don’t believe her apart from another boy Lewis, who had previously had a breakdown and the town thinks he is strange, who tells her he saw them too and also seems distressed by them.

The story follows Natasha trying to warn people of the horrible events she knows will happen to them and people not seeming to believe her, or her not making any difference and it happening anyway.

It was such a lovely read and something different. I would recommend to anyone who wants a slow burner.

Where Good Girls Go to Die ( Good girls book 1)
By Holly Renee
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶

It was a bad idea from the beginning.

He was my brother's best friend and the definition of unavailable.

But I didn't care.

I had loved him for as long as I could remember.

He was worth the risk. He was worth everything.

But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn't there to catch me.

So I ran.

Four years later, I never expected to see him again.

He was still my brother's best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever.

He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile.

Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die.

Unfortunately for him, I wasn't a good girl anymore.

I so enjoyed that!! It was really everything you expect from a romance novel. It had very well written spicy bits too. Didn’t take me long to read it as it was such an easy fun read.

Being a huge fan of the book and I'm glad I read the book first by the way, I was quite disappointed with what was missed out in the film and 'changes' they had made to suit to film. Nevertheless overall I dont think they did too bad a job, Glenn Close was definitely as easy to despise as her character is in the book I think she did a sound job. In fact the entire cast did very well in their character roles. If you are thinking of watching this then I would recommend reading the book first, as I am not convinced the book would be picked up had you watched the film first. Also if you want to know what happened to the survivors, not being satisfied with the ending, check out the book 'The Boy on the Bridge'.

I dunno how I feel. 2.5...3 stars? Either way I liked the start, up until about the half way point, it was bad boy biker/mechanic and young, innocent baker coming together with an instant combustible attraction and I liked it quite a lot, though Jake's growling and controlling ways were annoying after a while.

It was the second half of the story I wasn't so keen on. The sort of rush to their relationship--the engagement--and the stalker. Now I know that we need some sort of dilemma in a story but it didn't work for me in this. And then who it actually turned out to be was a shock. I certainly didn't see it coming.

I liked Kase so I may have to read the second book in this series at some point.
