One Boy's War is a bit of a continuation of Boy from Berlin. It is all based on a ship and in London, England during 1940 in the summer. It tells the tale of a boy named Kafer who is on a ship to Canada. He ends up returning to London, England.

Kafer and his mother and sibling are on the ship to Cannada. Something happens to make them return to London. There is an adventure for Kafer on the return. The adventures are enjoyable to read. There seems to be a mystery man that Kafer spots at the hotel while he and his family are waiting in Scotland.

There seems to be an adventure that Kafer and friend named Freddy that get Kafer into so trouble. Though I do not want to spoil that goes. This book is a good read. Children will enjoy it. If you want to find out if Kafer and his family make it safe and sound to Canada or not. I would suggest picking this book up.

In London, there are more adventures that Kafer goes on and he brings his brother along for one of them. Will they escape the Nazi's ore will they not. Will Kafer save his family or will he be stopped. The twist and turns of this book make you want to read to find out.

I was turning the pages of this book. I could not put it down. This book is mostly fiction with historical events that take place and with a real family. Any historical fiction fan from middle grade and up will enjoy this. I also enjoy the fact that this book and Boy from Berlin are pretty clean in language. I did not find one bad word in either book.

Life Long is a great book. It takes you into a young boy mind and what he goes through in his life. The boy or young man as a cousin and seem that he may be a bad influence on Ray. What will happen to make you wonder if this cousin Billy?

Ray Lopez is on the run from the cops and men that work with his cousin Billy Cisneros. Ray Lopez (Aka: Jimmy Ramirez), has a mental illness that he hears voices and also gets auditory hallucinations. He on runs and he convinced that cops are after him and his duffel bag of clothes and bags of money.

Ritz does a wonderful job of putting the story together. The plot is really rich filled with details and description. You learn about bus terminals and bus stations around that time. Ray makes friends with a bus passenger who suggest that go to Mexico which should mean safety. He must go to Nuevo Laredo to get to Mexico. He meets a street whiz kid named Joey. I received this book from Barclay Publicity in return for a fair and honest review.

This book continues where Shock Me finished and you are left not knowing who to trust or where to turn. Donna, Spencer and Rebecca feel that they can only trust each other and Donna also feels the extra responsibility of trying to keep them safe too. There are a few more new players which help keep this book fresh and moving forwards. Donna, Spencer and Rebecca find answers to questions they had but also uncover more secrets. Just how long has this been going on and how widespread is it? Throw into the story the usual self confidence angst and boy troubles that high school brings and you are swept away into Donna's story.

The intriguing part for me about this series isn't so much the story, as fantastic as it is, but the characters themselves. Each character is individual with their own thoughts, feelings and flaws. You are never sure when reading what you will get - a bad boy who decides to be good, a good guy who does something against his conscience, an unknown who acts in a way different to that you expected - it's all here and much more.

A brilliant continuation to the series which leaves you gasping for breath on a cliff hanger ending. Highly recommended.
