Before I start, just wanna point out that because of this show, to me every bad thing is now diabolical and said like karl urban...
Season 1 has come and gone and what a season it was, Karl Urban plays a badass anti hero-loving crusader of sorts whose probably in need of some anger management who reunites with his old team who seemingly left their friendship a little salty to say the least.
After managing to capture a "Hero" and a member of the 7 (team of hero's), butcher (urban) is after answers as to what happened to his missing wife 8 year's ago after she was sexually assaulted by another hero and the leader of the 7!
Things take a humorous, dark and violent twist with every move.
In a world where Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets.

THE CLEANSING is a work of fiction that is based on an amalgamation of recorded stories (unfortunately). It's set in a time when women paradoxically had no power, and yet were held accountable for powerful acts. It is also the time when Rome was fighting Hannibal and his elephants, suffering a crushing defeat in the process.
Mia was best friends with Attius until she was 'chosen' at six years old to serve a 30-year term as a Vestal Virgin. This isn't something she wants, as she wants to be like Diana, the Huntress. Being demure doesn't come easily to her. Attius follows his own path, which leads him to the Roman infantry, fighting under General Paullus.
After the defeat at Cannae, the Romans were desperate to blame someone. General Varro has done what he can to blame the now-deceased General Paullus, but they need something else. Something for the Roman people to get behind. They need a sacrifice.
Through the 'current' time and a series of flashbacks, we see Mia grow into her role, and the political machinations that lead to her being accused. While she didn't want to be a Vestal Virgin, she also wasn't prepared to take any chances; although she could be persuaded to bend the rules, as with Prisca. While history has recorded a different ending for Opimia, I loved the version in this book!
There is an amazing supporting cast of characters, from Floronia and Prisca, to the Virgo Maxima, Lucius Cantilius, and Cornelius Lentulus. One of my favourite characters (and places) was the Sibyl of Cumae. I thought she raised some interesting points, and the commune was fantastic.
The research for this book is in-depth and fascinating, so please ensure you read the Author's Note and the Historical Notes. I also read them simply because I wasn't ready for the story to end. This was an outstanding read that held my attention from beginning to end. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

I first got an extended look at “Bullet Train” during Cinemacon when a reel of the film was shown during the Sony showcase to an enthusiastic crowd. The footage mixed action and humor with quirky and dysfunctional characters and became a must-see film for me based on the teased footage.
The film is based on a book by Kotaro Isaka and stars Brad Pitt as an operative named Ladybug. He is called at the last minute as a replacement and given instructions to board a Bullet Train and snatch a case in one of the passenger areas before exiting at the next station.
Having gone through a recent crisis, Ladybug is awash in various philosophical and new age ideas as he attempts to find his inner peace and a new path in life, as such he does not take a gun with him when he boards despite being instructed to do so by his handler.
The train is filled with various killers and dangerous people who are there to accomplish various goals and most of whom fail frequently in violent and hysterical manners which further complicate their agendas as well as that of the others and often puts them into conflict with one another as the story unfolds.
It would be difficult to go into further detail on the various characters without spoiling some of the reveals and twists along the way but suffice it to say that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry as Tangerine and Lemon are great and their banter, as well as capers, is a frequent highlight.
There are some surprise cameos in the film which add to the fun and Joey King is as great as perhaps one of the more complicated characters in the film. Pitt is clearly the star but the film allows him as well as his supporting cast plenty of moments to shine and the humor flies fast and frequent as does the action which creates a very engaging and stylistic hybrid of western and Asian cinema.
The film does drag slightly late before leading to the finale but thanks to the great cast and action it comes through in the end.
Director David Leitch has worked on films such as “Deadpool 2”, “Atomic Blonde”, and “John Wick: and you can see that he has a knack for directing action and comedy as this is a very fun and engaging film that has some great action and humor and one that you will not want to miss.
