Darren (1599 KP) rated Boonie Bears: To The Rescue (2019) in Movies
Oct 14, 2019
Story – The story here follows the unlikely union of the television show character Logger Vick and the brother bears Briar and Bramble as they want to protect a little baby girl they find in the forest, who is being tracked down by criminals. If you have seen the TV show, you will enjoy seeing the unlikely union, think Bugs Bunny working with Elma Fudd. If you haven’t seen the TV show you will see how characters similar to Yogi Bear and Ranger Smith clash over certain things. Having this mixed together we do get a Monsters Inc environment, with the baby being thrown into the hands of people and animals with no idea how to raise them and them finding comical ways to make her happy. This is clearly marketed for a younger audience and you can see why they would be happy to sit and enjoy the characters adventures.
Adventure/Family – The adventure side of this film shows us just how far the unlikely group will go to save a baby, it has plenty of references to other adventure films too, while this might be one that is targeted more for the younger members of the family, parents could enjoy watching with their single figured aged children.
Settings – The film uses the settings to get an extra laugh here and there, as it shows us just how the three characters live with their own rivalry.
Animation – The animation in the film does look like it has come from a TV show, which still makes it look fantastic throughout.
Scene of the Movie – The bonding between the three.
That Moment That Annoyed Me – Being unsure what the rivalry between Logger Vick and the bears really is.
Final Thoughts – This is a fun family comedy that will keep the younger audience happy throughout the film, it does have a big heart at the centre and could be compared to Monsters Inc and Yogi Bear with ease.
Overall: Fun family animation.
Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Berenstain Bears and the Joy of Giving in Books
Dec 11, 2020
This book is a favorite of mine not cause it to deal with Christmas or the meaning of giving. I grew up with The Berenstain Bears series. I still love them. I love the meaning behind the book. It is better to give than to receive.
This tells a story through Brother and Sister Bear's eyes. This book and many in the series teaches a valuable lesson for children. I love that. The pictures are done well. There something that changes the cubs. This book is good to have on your child's bookshelves.
Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story in Books
Mar 28, 2021
It will tell the story of Easter and Jesus' resurrection so that young children can learn and understand the story. It is easy for children to learn about the bible story of what happens to Jesus and why we celebrate Easter.
The pictures are colorful and bright. The story happens told through a play to the bear cubs and students at the Sunday school. Easter candy is not everything for why Easter is so important. These acts remain shown throughout the book.
Parents would add this book to their collection of books for their children. Your child or children should have this book added to your child's bookshelves or collection of The Berenstain Bears. The book can be carried out and read to young children before Easter. Children can then bring up the topic or ask questions about how Jesus has risen and why we celebrate Easter. Why is it such a Holy day for Christians?
Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Berenstain Bears Thanksgiving Blessing in Books
Nov 17, 2021
This book teaches Mama and Papa as they ride through the woods to their grans and gramps place for Thanksgiving dinner. They teach about how the native Bears and pilgrims shared and started the whole Thanksgiving feast and what it means to be thankful for all the blessings you have.
The blessing is quite a few things we have somewhat forgotten we came to have. Some of the blessings are Family and Friends, Faith, and religion. A few others. The cubs do mention a song that is a favorite of mine. The song is “Over the river and Through the woods.”
What will your child or children learn about the history of holidays and celebrations? This book teaches a bit about it. What is your child or children learning to be Thankful for during the season? Are we teaching that children should be thankful for the blessing that they have? The many blessings we have in life have continued told in this book.
