This movie was absolutely beautiful to watch, albeit slightly less beautiful to listen to. The songs themselves were very enjoyable but very derivative and at times seemed overly autotuned, but they definitely stick in your head and the choreography is cute too. I felt there were multiple subplots that would have added more depth to the movie that we only saw a tip of the iceberg with, I would have loved to see more of those but I think leaving them out means that it's a great family movie that people of all ages can enjoy instead of just grown ups.

A rare coming of age film about poverty, race and homosexuality
A moving film finally showing homosexuality in the black community. Don't expect the sugar coating of Brokeback Mountain which seems like The Sound of Music in comparison. It shows the layers of extreme difficulty living as a black man, in a poverty stricken area, surrounded by peers who think one way, and attempting to break free from a drug fuelled mother and the dealers around her. It's visually beautiful and the quiet dialogue highlights the protagonist's wonderful acting.

A Beautiful Tale That Brings to Light the Darkened Truths
An absolutely beautiful story that sadly holds too much basis in today's world. This film tackles a lot of dangerous topics that many are too scared to address. It allows you to really get into the head of those who sadly go through these events and allows to really see the hidden racism that is spread throughout our culture. I have fallen in love with this film and truly believe that whether you actually enjoy it or not, it's a film that everyone needs to see at least once.

Movie Metropolis (309 KP) rated Finding Nemo (2003) in Movies
Jun 10, 2019
One of Pixar’s best films, Finding Nemo features exquisite animation and beautiful vocal performances wrapped in a rich and emotionally engaging storyline. From vibrant coral reef to polluted city harbour, the use of different areas really helps the film come alive and also showcases just what humans are doing to our beautiful planet.
Followed up by a rather disappointing sequel, Finding Dory, in 2015, Nemo proves even more so today that less really is more. If you haven’t managed to catch this future classic yet, then do so as soon as you can. You won’t regret it.

Mothergamer (1571 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of Monster Hunter World in Video Games

Fun Adventure With Friends
The game is so much fun to play. It's more fun playing with friends and working as a team to take down monsters. The different areas are beautiful and fun to explore. Gathering resources is pretty straightforward and you can craft items and armor. While the gameplay doesn't hold your hand every step of the way, it is very well done. There's always something to do and it's great doing it all with friends and other players.

Kristin (149 KP) rated Divine Merit (Divine #1) in Books

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. Amira is a beautiful character who really comes into her own, and Caeden is the type of man every girl dreams of: a lover, a fighter, a protector. The world of Cashile sounds like such a beautiful place, and the imagery used to describe it makes it seem so real, I can almost touch it.
I'm definitely interested in what happens following the end of this book, and I'm keeping this author on my list to keep up with in the future. =)
5 stars!

I was so not ready for this ending... What can I say? Beautiful beyond words... I can't even begin to say how much I loved seeing this next step towards the new life these two are building after surviving more than any two people should. The first two books in this series were so dark and twisted yet this ending somehow made it all right and beautiful in the end. His devotion to making things right between them gripped at my heart and I was SO happy that these two could find love after all they gone through. PERFECT ending to an incredible series!!

Carrie (18 KP) rated Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine in Books
Jan 22, 2019
Beautiful, insightful and funny
This was recommended to me by a friend and isn’t something I would usually read, however I am so glad that I did.
Although the back story is dark, the main concept is beautiful, about friendship and love.
It was such an easy read, I struggled to put it down as I just wanted to find out more about he main character, Eleanor.
My interpretation was that it was a fantastic insight into the viewpoint of someone with a behaviour/social issues, a strong message that we shouldn’t judge if someone is different, as we don’t know what they may be dealing with.
