"A bittersweet documentary that follows the lives of two gifted basketball players from Chicago as they work their way through the ranks of high school b-ball programs and onward. One of the best docs I can think of, and a very necessary look at sociological issues surrounding America’s beautiful game."

"I know it’s kind of cheating but oh well. There is something special about Patsy and I don’t know that anyone can quite put their finger on it; I definitely can’t. But listening to this collection is a beautiful way to spend an evening with a cocktail and your favourite person."

This was equally as delightful as the first book. Wendell is just a delight and I love him so much. This story is so tender and heartwarming but at the same time so sad and as always the artwork is beautiful!

"The story highlights how the positive actions of a single individual can transform the world we share. In this case, it’s the story about a Elzeard Bouffier, a humble shepherd who reforests a landscape destroyed by war. Try and find the version with the beautiful wood engravings by Michael McCurdy."

"This emotional journey compelled me to want understand the past of my own Taiwanese mother better. It is the story of four Chinese American women in San Francisco and how their mothers’ struggles in the Chinese homeland made them who they were. It is a highly emotional and exceptionally beautiful story."

"I dove into the middle of it instead of starting at the beginning. I came across a lot of beautiful poetry of the whiteness of the whale and the colors of nightmares and the great spirit’s spout…I turned back to the start: ‘Call me Ishmael,’ and I was in love!"

"It’s always the beautiful simplicity of this story that transports me. Not a word is wasted. For such a short novel, it kind of approaches perfection in storytelling for me. Hemingway apparently said of the novel that it was the “best I can write ever for all of my life.”"
