"It’s something of a gangster movie. I can’t say too much without giving away the plot, but it’s the best character development of any film I’ve ever seen. And, as with all of Paolo Sorrentino’s work, it keeps you guessing. His stuff is at once aesthetically beautiful and really cheerfully playful. He’s a very mischievous director, but he has an aching heart for romance which underpins everything. Sorrentino does these vast, beautiful things but manages to give it a heart and a warm personality – proclaiming the great beauty in things without it being a serious business for serious men."

"Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream), a song on my new album, was written about New Moon. The song is about what happens when a relationship breaks down or, more specifically, when you are abandoned in some way. I could totally relate to that. I think that Meyer’s stories are magnificent and I’m amazed at how she built her complex world. Writing a song seems much simpler that writing a novel – a song is just five verses and a chorus! I think the love story between Edward and Bella is going to live on forever, like Beauty and the Beast."

"This was where I fell in love for the first time. As a boy of maybe nine, or so. Marilyn really nailed my little, tentative heart. Something about her insane beauty, mixed with that self doubt and sensitivity she portrayed, was so effecting. The performances from Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are hilarious. Again, like most great films, this one has some quotes and moments that just stay in the mind and resonate. It’s a film about love and friendship and second chances, I think. Will never get tired of watching this, as long as I’ve got days on my calendar."
