Some decent creepy moments
The first time I watched this I remember being ridiculously creeped out, mostly from one of the final lines that explains the stranger's motives. On watching this again, it is a little disappointing.

My main issue with this film is with the actions of the main characters. None of what they do to try and save themselves makes sense, and neither of them are made out to be likeable or endearing either, to the point where you really don't care what happens to them. It's a shame as this does have some creepy moments, from the "he's behind you" type scenes to that motive reveal at the end - these were really enjoyable.

I never thought I'd say this, but in the case of The Strangers the sequel is definitely better. These two films seem like worlds apart and sadly I think this original film is lacking in a lot that the sequel gave in abundance.

Mayhem Behind the Scenes of Silent Pictures
When Molly visits her friends Ryan O’ Hara on the set of an early silent movie, her adopted daughter Bridie winds up getting discovered and cast in the lead. So Molly starts spending time on the set herself, where she sees some suspicious accidents. But when one hits very close to home, Molly starts investigating. Can she find proof of sabotage before someone dies?

I’ve always appreciated that this series has given us glimpses into many different worlds of 1900’s New York City. As a fan of movies, this setting was very fun. Having said that, the pacing was really off here, which was disappointing. The climax is satisfying, however. I enjoy spending time with the characters, although some growth would be nice. I did feel transported to the time period as I read. Fans of the series will appreciate time with the characters even if this isn’t the strongest book in the series.

If Logan's Run and The Hunger Games had a baby...
From Michael Bay, the director of every crappy movie over the last 10 years, comes a really good one!

Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson have surprising chemistry as they try and figure out what's going on in their "perfect" society which ends of having a few surprises. When he begins to question his sterile existance and the "Kool-Aid" they have all been told, he begins to figure out what is actually going on behind the scenes.

A surprising good action movie develops with some interesting twists and turns. Say what you want about Bay. He can certainly orchestrate a good action sequence when he wants to and doesn't have 27 robots fighting each other at the same time.

I highly recommend checking this one out.

I love Ewan McGregor and I like Scarlett Johannson, but their chemistry in this was just awful.

Probably nobody's favourite Bond film, but it doesn't deserve the stick it gets for supposedly putting the franchise on hiatus for half a decade (behind the scenes issues at MGM/UA were responsible for the delay). A gritty tale of drug-dealing and vengeance, rather closer to the tone of Ian Fleming than any Bond film in twenty years; not that different in tone from some parts of the Daniel Craig era.

The complaint that it just doesn't feel like a Bond movie - too much crunch, not enough glitter - has some truth to it, and Dalton is arguably playing it all just a bit too straight, but the action sequences are well-mounted and it moves along pacily enough. Also has a scene where Benicio del Toro gets squelched by giant spiked wheels, so much to enjoy here on many levels (only joking, Benny).
